CJC and Coffee

.....On our way to the St Pete bash last October CJC and I stopped by to spend the night with a friend of hers from West Virginia. They lived outside of Orlando on a small farm. It was a beautiful place and a lovely home. The next morning her friend made some coffee on a coffee maker that ground the beans just before the coffee brewed. What a wonderful cup it was and CJC remarked that it was the best she has ever had.......Fast forward to her birthday in November and guess what I got her? You guessed it, a coffee maker that ground the beans and then brewed the coffee. On christmas her gave us some special coffee beans that cost $30 a pound. Talk about some good stuff, its a little piece of heaven in the morning. She only makes it about once a week as the rest of the time its 8 o'clock coffee. ......So if your a coffee aficionado invest in one of these coffee makers. Your mornings will never be the same. You don't have to get the expensive beans because any kind produces coffee unparalleled in freshness and flavor. .......Goes especially good with 1GaSilverhead's cornbread spread with a little honey butter.........smile

You do not give the make or model of this kind of coffee pot so how would I find one. I do have an electric coffee Grinder and since I live in Starbuck Land I buy their beans and grind fresh it does make a difference in the richness of the coffee.

I used to go to a drive thru when I lived near San Diego that had a coffee machine that ground the beans as they made each cup of coffee. You are right, makes a big difference. Just yesterday I asked Alfie's stepson to pick me up a bag of Kona coffee beans next time he goes to Sam's. I have an electic grinder I will use. Nothing like fresh ground coffee for our coffee!!! Ahhhhh, what a way to wake up in the morning.

.....Many manufactures have these machines depends on how much you want to pay. Cusinart is somewhat pricey but GE makes a very good machine at a reasonable price, guess which one I got.....LOL

MsJOE....INSTANT? oh no

Thanks for the info 60Min. The coffee sounds great but the best part is being in a relationship with someone you love and sitting down at the table with them drinking coffee and eating cornbread. Sigh.

I grind my own beans before putting it through the maker, but am going to look for one of these because it will reduce counter clutter....and I'm really in a decluttering state of mind these days.

Agree with bijou...there's nothing like a fresh cuppa with a loved one, complimented with some home-made biscotti...or a cinnamon roll right out of the oven.

Fresh grind coffee made in an Expresso Machine............ When I made mundane coffee, I will sprinkle cinnamon with the coffee.
