What Would You Do?

....Most Americans had high expectations when President Obama was elected President. His inspirational innaugaration address seemed to many as a great beginning. Hope and Change seemed more than a campaign slogan but held a promise for America. Well after 18 months America has realized that unless a drastic turn around occurs it seems the slogan is now "Hopeless" and we will be in "Chains".....Aside from the disaster in the Gulf as President what would you consider Americas most pressing important crisis......after choosing one if you could take the time and comment why, it would validate your selection and I am sure it will be interesting reading. Within the list provided, there aren't that many things any one man, even President, can do without assistantce from Cabinet.
World Peace doesn't mean just saying words, our actions toward other nations must change. I am so sorry that some are ruled by tyrants, have no job or food, chatel their women, etc.
If Obama could change his personality to one of "leader" and not a supreme being it would be a great start. We are taught early in life not to enter when others fight, you always get hurt too. If someone does you wrong, remove yourself from them, give up all ties and do whatever is necessary to protect yourself. World Peace is imperative. Linda

meri99 very good yes education has not improved. President Bush tried to addressed responsibility and accountbility but was strogly resisted by Unions. Disband the unions, disband the Dept of Education, put control of the schools back to local authorities. Allow the schools to teach instead of being hand holders. Yes more VocEd is needed.

......Destiny not sure what you mean about the cost of war? The monetary costs are not really very much. I consider the Human cost much more significant.......Former President Bush has had nothing to do with the oil business before being elected as Governor of Texas in 1994. I just finished reading "A Matter of Character", a book about the Bush White House. What a remarkable President and person he is.

dogman.....I honestly believe that somebody else is guiding him as I do not feel that he himself would purposely ruin this Country. Something is amiss and my hope is it will be corrected this November.

AAAHHH shucks all we have to do is charge a tariff of 100% on all goods coming into this country and apply the funds to the national debt,,,,,,,,,,,,,,then we could FIX some minor things OR do some fine tuning.

GOD bless America, the land that I LOVE!!!

Mr Kingston....I have half a mind to delete your comment for it actually is a blog of its own but alas I have let it stand as it would be appropiate for others to see your yellow view of this great Country. I have not the time or inclination to dispute your analysis of our history for its obvious you have your own agenda on what it is.

Mr Kingston I do believe you can cherry pick discretions from any Countries tree if you desire. The United States seems to be your target. Perhaps you need to consider what this world would look like without an America. If a small band of patriots and farmers did not have a vision of liberty and freedom so long ago. The remaining Contries that have the current ability to step up and be a superpower is not very appealing.

Mr. Kingston:

Please get the matter straight. The US is not blockading Cuba. The US has imposed a trade embargo on Cuba. This means that US citizens and corporations can't do business with Cuba, and US-registerd ships can't carry cargo to Cuba. The US can't stop the citizens of other nations from trading with Cuba. The place is, for instance, a popular vacation spot for Canadians.

This is not the same position that Gaza finds itself in.

As much as I may view this policy as silly, it's not comparable to what Israel is doing to Gaza and the West Bank.
