The "Achilles" President.

......According to Greek Mythology Achilles was the greatest of warriors (hero's). He was also moody, needed to have his way and only took action if it suited his fancy. His mother made him invulnerable except for his heel that she held him by when dipping him in the river Styx.........Unlike Achilles, President Obama is not heroic, but imagines himself to be one. He has set goals for what he sees as a new America. So blinded by pride and self-regard and his cheerleading chorus, the liberal media, he chooses to or pretends not to see his heel. Sadly unlike Achilles his insistence in doing things his way affect not only ordinary Americans but others around the world. As he pours massive amounts of money into the economy, nationalizes banks, wall street, the Auto industry, and continues to push ahead and put health care under his socialist umbrella, will we become the new U.S.S.of A......He is not hearing the voices of massive unemployment, unimaginable foreign debt and economic stagnation. He gives free reign to the enemies of freedom here and abroad. He publicly insults the other branches of Government for not embracing his agenda. Like Achilles he sulks and refuses to consider any alternative methods of bringing America back from the abyss. Until he learns to Govern from the center, until he realizes he is not invulnerable, he will be exactly like Achilles and Paris (the American people) will pierce his heel with the arrow of downfall.........

Obama lies over the ocean
Obama lies over the sea
Obama lies over the Country
Oh bring back my Country to me........

How ironic...

When I substitute these words in to your blog I get a rather accurate description of the goings-on during 2001-2009:

"George W Bush" for "Obama",
"Right-wing, neo-con media" for "Liberal media",
"unjustifable wars in the Middle East, and cuts taxes, to boot", for "... the economy....(to)....new U.S.S.of A.."

I even conjured up a ditty to match your's. To wit:

George W we're glad you're back in Texas,
Or Maine, where you live by the sea,
You screwed up the country for eight years,
(Someone, please) Bring back my Country to me...

    Quoting  :

Muslims tend to do that, they get sworn in and the next day they squander all the surplus you had, all the banks and autoindustry go belly-up in a week give or take. And on top, the Muslims who want to kill you and he is one of them, he wants to keep people healthy with his socialist idea.Funny Palin used our health care in Canada in Whitehorse. Ask her because she wanted socialist health care or could not afford it or her parents?
Try to help to give your country the name it used to have not the backstabbing politics with open pockets. Thats the way I see it. It is sad to see what is happening. I try to keep up with the change with my kids and grandkids. Sometimes long for our simple life. I for one just sit here and listen to someone spewing hate

Roxy It is begining to get sad that you fail to grasp the concept that it was the muslim radical terrorists goons that flew planes into the WTC and drove a truck into the Marine Barracks and piloted a boat into side of a Navy Ship and flew a plane into the very heart of our National Defense community that lead us into a war which took the lives of our servicemen and women. God bless President Bush for standing up to them and not apologize for America......

The arrogance of Obama is the harbinger of his downfall. There really haven't been that many one term Presidents in recent years but Obama will be one. Wait and see.

Then, we can all play Democrat and blame everything on the previous occupant of the White House. It is the only answer they can come up with when they see their President failing at everything.

I read your blog and realize how shrewd the Republican Party is to label their political base as easily misled reactionaries.

60min and Huneybunz: You missed the nuance of my submittal... i.e.: that you can take ANY President and make those substitutions that I did and you'll find a readable paragraph, adjusted for the thinking and point-of-view of the writer.

I WASN'T criticizing W.... after all, historians will have lots of time to document what an idjit he is, and how destructive he was as a President....

Akman yes I understand and generally speaking that's true. It just amazes me that any criticism leveled at President Obama somehow finds its way back to President Bush. Someone once told me that if Santa Claus were President there still would be some to find fault....
