Shipping Jobs Overseas...........oh really?

......The unemployment dilemma continues in America despite the Government throwing Billions in to the economy to spur demand. What a colossal waste of taxpayers money. Of course our President seems to think that the Government should spend it instead of the Individual. He and the Democrats will continue to spend because that is the way to buy votes instead of creating jobs. At every opportunity the Liberal establishment blames the Corporation for shipping American Jobs overseas.......... To examine that audacious statement all one has to do is look at Farming. In 1900 41% of our workforce were employed in agriculture. By 1930 that number dwindled to 22% until today that number is less than 2%. ** Well what happened? Did all those Farmers get up and go overseas? Of course not the Agriculture industry became more efficient through technology and mechanization where now that 2% is capable of producing enough food to feed all the worlds hungry............ The Non agriculture jobs are doing the same thing. The American worker has doubled his productivity over the last century and coupled with the ever fast changing technology and mechanization it takes less workers to produce more. No other Country comes close to America's GDP..........For this Administration and Democrats to continue to punish Business/Corporations by demonizing them and pushing more regulations and taxes on them is nothing short of Criminal. Do these Democrats take economics in school? If they did they no doubt were asleep. Give our Industrial sector, Businesses and Corporations Tax cuts fewer regulations and let them do what they do better than Government. Create Jobs....

I had a good job doing medical billing for emergency room doctors. I was there for over ten years and was making a decent wage with decent benefits. When the owner of the American corporation that I worked for discovered that people in India would do the same work for almost nothing, he outsourced my job and those of 35 others in this small town where jobs are few and far between. We were left with no jobs, no medical insurance, and almost no chance of getting full time work without driving at least 50 miles down the mountain. This happened right in the middle of Bush's presidency and had nothing to do with the Democrats. It had to do with a Republican business owner who wanted more money.

Wake up..it's been happening to first world nations for quite a while..if I wish to speak with my telephone, internet provider I have spoken to some lovely people in India...oh yes..that would be Bell Canada. Call a government office..have a hard time finding someone who speaks legible English (French do not count, be are bilingual)
Just wanted to say this is nothing new.....is been going on for quite a while.

I did want to say that the people I have spoken to in India were charming, spoke excellent English and were able to fix a problem and usually find a way to save another 20.00 a month. They are doing there job, better than it had been done here..so..I don't know. Our of my hands.
Have a great day

Once about forty years ago, you were right.

Maybe, some day in the future you'll be right again...but not today!

Today, the government assisting big business is much like the social programs your so against. Entitlements, are short term "goods" and long term "evils". Big business is no better than the rest of us, taking their entitlement. Then weighing in just what's best for them, in lieu of what's best for the country that gave it to them.

The Rockefeller's, Getty's and such of days gone by, where controlling influences, that weighed profits with patriotism. It worked then.

Only a fool would believe it would work today.

Rheem Manufacturing officials in 2009 moved the operations of its Milledgeville Georgia operation to Mexico and closed the plant in Milledgeville.

According to a press release, the plant moved the production of N-style evaporator coils and Rheem and Ruud brand rectangular air conditioning and heat pump products to a new plant in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.

The 400,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Nuevo Laredo was completed Nov. 3 2009. Production of both the coil and air conditioning, along with associated support equipment was relocated from Milledgeville to the new plant in Mexico, which features state-of-the-art equipment.

According to a company press release, the final day of production at Rheem’s Milledgeville plant was on Oct. 24 2009. Relocation was complete, and the Mexico plant was online by January 2010.

So Richard, you think we should all approve of a tax break for this company after they fired 1200 people in this small corner of Georgia and moved their operations to Mexico? Do we need to give tax breaks to provide jobs for Mexicans?

60min....sometimes you don't to know what I really think. just the negative response to you.

So here it is.

I believe that no matter what happens in Washington this country is in for some more pain.

I believe that the status quo doesn't work.

I believe, that doing something is better than doing nothing.

I believe, that the government's half azz efforts, have created the situation we're in. Making laws, that gave entitlements to some of the needy, without being able to exclude those others who would take advantage of it.

I believe, that our government needs to step up to plate, or go back to the batters box. either way this country will be better off. Get out of it, or do it right.

I believe, that we use a bandaid approach to a gaping wound, when we should suture it up, or let it bleed out.

I believe that the choices are to get out it and have massive bleeding, and a short term recovery. Or to get more into it, fix it, and have a long term recovery.

I prefer either choice, to a slow term death.

I believe this country's greatest attribute is to overcome the mistakes it has made in the past. I do not fear the mistakes of the future. For it is in the mistakes we make, that the proper solutions to the problem we face are discovered. For those of you who fight against us making mistakes, you need to accept it as our lack of freedom and lack of progress.

The way the future will view this countries is a time of greatest freedom in human history. Not because of the successes granted by the freedom to succeed.... but for our freedom, to be allowed, to fall flat on our faces, and get up again.

Unemployment under George Bush was never over 8%. Now its a little over 10%. This President wants Congress to have a Jobs bill on his desk. I will guarantee you that it means spending more money that we do not have. You cannot create Jobs by Government spending. Jobs are created by the people spending it. A fact lost on the President and Congress.

Alfie.... Our Country has the 2nd highest tax rate on Business in the world only exceeded by mere percentage points by Japan. Just maybe that company would still be in Midgeville if we were one of the lowest. I dont know for sure but if Midgeville had the highest property tax in America I believe you would be looking to relocate.

You didn't address the question I asked you Richard. The Rheem plant in Milledgeville was just one example of many.

What I asked you was, should corporations which export jobs to other countries be given tax breaks? Bearing in mind that they have fired hundreds of people in this country to employ people in those other countries.

Alfie Giving tax cuts(not breaks)is a good idea so yes if its an American company. Does that answer your question? I also would assume that the stockholders in that company who depend upon their investments would agree with me.....

I find it incredible when I do a blog about unemployment that its content is twisted by some to reflect evil business moving jobs overseas. When Toyota, Honda and other companies from abroad open plants in America the seek the most business friendly States to do so. Its time to make our Country business friendy hows that for Ideaology.....
