The Silly Virus in Blogland ......Lately it seems that blogs are becoming sillier and sillier all the time. I see one sentence blogs(go to the chat room if that's the best you can do), I see blogs that tell us about their cat/dog, the he wont give me his telephone number blogs, the banning blogs, the so and so did this/that to me blogs, and the rodney king (why cant we all get along) blogs........... Narrative blogs (you know the ones requiring rational thought and research) are slowly being wedged out in favor of Silly. I know some out there wish I would keep my blogs to one sentence, but then you wouldn't know who I am. You wouldn't know what I stand for. You wouldn't know me. When I read a blog I want to see the author of that blog .I want a glimpse into that persons life. Am I way off base here? Is what I am seeing (silly) the purpose of blogs?.........Oh well just continue on but please in your next blog submittal put some thought in it. Put a little of yourself in it. If you get a negative comment the world will not end and you certainly will be a better individual...... "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind."....T. Paine |

Oh cripes.....Canadian Mother Earth meets the U.S. Marine. This duet always makes me laugh. Great fodder for a reality show.

Still I have seen some very creative humorous blogs and they are a welcome respite to the seriousness around us. Yours for the most part are straight to the point and provoke some thought. At least your not telling us who did what to whom and why and when. Thank you sir.... "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind."....T. Paine

I think a lot of the blogs are a bit silly but I dont read them. I try my best, but last week I deleted a lot of my old blogs that I thought were a bit "naive" and Im glad I did. From now on, if I have nothing to say I wont say it. A few people here will be overjoyed to hear this.

ruggedntender......very nice comment and you are absolutely right. I used to try and read them all but the sheer numbers of blogs one has to pick and choose. Many say I write political blogs and some of them are but many are just my views on particular subjects that I feel will interest others. Because my views are very conservative many have chosen to ignore me altogether......others read my blogs to be critical of those views and occasionally I have to rethink my position. So all that is healthy and what interaction is all about.....Thanks once again for your comment and have a nice day.... "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind."....T. Most of us accept ideas, in an order of preference, agreement in thought, disagreement in thought, and finally diversity in thought. In baseball parlance, it's a pitcher's and catcher's world. Those of us, out in left field, may not see the ball as often, but certainly have a better view of the game.

60min, Take my word for it. this site would be much easier if we can define the issues, take sides, see the black and white of it, and then choose. But, life is rainbow, not meant to be easily understood. It's in the spectrum of colors, where understanding, acceptance and tolerance can be found. From those that agree.... we receive validation, from those that disagree... we receive justification, and from those out in left field... we receive edification. You ask for insight, from blogs writer, as to the kind of person they are. Everyone who writes a blog of any sort gives you insight, if you choose to see it. Even those that choose not to response, give their own special insight. It's really difficult to see the rainbow, if all you choose to see is black and white.

How about this then: Canadian Earth Mother (bereft in the appreciation of self-deprecating humour) meets U.S. Marine? Now, can you stick out your tongue; mine is kinda dry from affixing all those not-so-simplistic labels.

Jimminy... I like your baseball analagy but I hope you dont mind if I choose right field for my view of the game. As far as your rainbow analagy they briefly occur in white light because there is no such thing as black light. Black is he absence of light. I can think of many issues where gray is not an option. Thanks for your comment sir I didn't realize this subject would recieve such insightful response. "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind."....T. Paine

The truth, the perception of the truth, and the twists of the truth. No matter which, if we can't laugh at ourself, we can never really laugh with others.

My blogs and replies are a litany of self-deprecating humour - long before you joined this site. You regard "Canadian earth mother" as being insultatory? Come on now! If it was in the context of your favourite potboiler of buffoonery known as The Onion, you would no doubt think otherwise.
