Am I Crazy?........... ......... There are many distinct rock outcroppings and formations that are interesting across this Country. There's the Nine Sisters in San Luis Obispo. The Iao needle in Hawaii. the Devils Backbone along the Ohio river in Indiana. The old man in the Mountain which sadly collapsed in 2003 in New Hampshire. .... ....There is one here in North Carolina just east of Bat Cave on Highway 74. I have traveled this way many times on my way to Asheville NC before the interstate made the trip easier. Its called Chimmney Rock. Herein lies the problem. It does not resemble a chimmney. IMHO it appears to be something else. I have often wondered why it wasn't named for what it looks like. Does anyone out there think that I am crazy? Do you disagree? Does it really look like a chimmney or something else? If so what is your opinion ? What would you call it?  "The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind."....T. Paine |

Gosh 60min Im sorry I cant see a chimney any like the ones we have over here!!! Maybe a landed spacecraft that was abandoned by its crew and they became part of the community, or, maybe its Bobs Landmark!!

60-min's: At first glance, before reading your blog-message, to me the rock formation looks like an iguana or other sort of large lizard. I wonder how 'my' impression would be interpreted if this photo was included in a Rorschach 'test'? LOL
