Samuel Taylor Coleridge quote

A quote of Samuel Taylor Coleridge came to mind yesterday. Mrsdinty and I were out on another window shopping spree again, we seem to do that a lot now that she is retired.

Any how, we went into pet smart to look for a new coat for Chloe our little chihuahua. We have also been thinking of getting a kitten to torment her with. We went over to the adopt a cat area and saw a huge cat there. It(now neutered) was cleaning it's back leg. This leg was bigger than Chloe. I mean, the cat was huge. Any way, we talked and hummed and hawed over the idea and were on the edge of adopting this big ox, when the clerk came over with a young couple in tow. They looked like a couple who would enjoy having a kitten around. Instead, the clerk put a blue ADOPTED sign on the old cats cage. The couple looked happy, the clerk looked happy, and I know mrsdinty and I were sure happy. This big ox of a cat got it's furever home. We congratulated the couple and wandered off.

At that moment, Samuel Taylor Coleridge's saying came to my mind, "He prayeth best who loveth best All things both great and small"

I hope the young couple have a long happy life togeather

Now mrsdinty and I have to decide on a rescue chihuahua or a rescue kitten.

Have a good day ya-all.

Which ever you choose make it a rescue. I have had many rescues over the years. Now this is the only way I would get another pet.

I vote for a cat - unless you get a large dog for the little guy you have to torment. You know the little ones usually rule and chihuahua are the most assertive.

Like grouch I prefer big dogs myself but have had a couple of small ones, a beagle and a cocker spaniel who found me.
