Breast Cancer Awareness Month

To all ladies and men: Just a reminder that October is breast cancer awareness month. We all need to "save the ta tas" so to speak. I went for 3 years without my mammo. We all say time flies and those 3 years really did. But when I found out I had breast cancer time stood still. I was stage 1 thank God and required a lumpectomy with 33 radiation treatments. Just finished in June and my first repeat mammo was clear. So please don't put it off.....

Hi Fun: So glad to hear your last mammogram was good news. I have been through the same and was surprised to see many men with breast cancer too.

Thank you for reminding people about this - I have two more chemotherapy treatments left and I remind people all the time to go to the Doctor for mammograms.

YES!!!! It's VERY IMPORTANT TO GET A YEARLY MAMMOGRAM!!!

For all the jokes about the procedure, it's not that bad at all, and the technicians are usually very understanding, and will explain every step and not rush you.

BTW: Men get breast cancer too!! So you guys out there need to check your breasts also.

Yes, we just had a 10 mile run for Hope for a Day fundraising and the guest speaker was the Sheriff of one of the counties here in Georgia. He had breast cancer and had to undergo chemo and radiation. It's just not a womans disease.

I agree with everyone here ... get a yearly mammogram! Mine is due this coming Thursday with my annual physical!

Attention Canada as evolved from breast cancer to cancer in women generally.

Probably because more women die from lung cancer than from breast cancer.
