HUMANS VS LIFE

This blog is inspired by Grouch's blog about pride in ignorance. What really confounds me is how so many people choose to focus on the destruction of a few human cells and virtually ignore the massive destruction of other life that is going on here on this precious little planet that we call home. Is it unconscious distraction from reality or just insane denial?

Based on a true story.

I guess Rush, Hannity, Beck or O'Reilly haven't been focusing on much else but abortion, and conspiracy theories. I find it amusing to see the differences in "top stories" on the different channels.

You asked if it is unconscious distraction from reality or just insane denial? It is neither, in fact they are ultra-conscious of what they are doing and why they are doing it. Their focus is on taking President Obama down and since global warming is one of Obama's causes to back any plans to slow the warming down would be giving Obama an upper-hand. They will take the opposite view from President Obama no matter what.

You hear so many people talk about the world we are leaving to our children in regards to the government, but many of those same people don't think along the lines as to the state of the planet we are leaving behind for the coming generations.

I just think most folks, conservative or liberal, tend to fixate primarily on just a few issues that strike them as most important. Probably influenced by the same things that influence personality.

I think that's because if we try to take up every cause, we'll lose focus anyway, stretch our emotional resources to exhaustion, and won't succeed on any of them. We can only do so much.

Are any of those others Americans?

Of course not, so why should we care?
