The Olympics THE OLYMPICS The Olympics, what emotion the word creates Years of training, as the expectant world waits What is it that inspires the single-minded quest Striving for the impossible, bodies never at rest Pushing boundaries to achieve the ultimate goal Heated determination bubbling deep in the soul Wanting to be first, the fastest or simply the best Gain applause and recognition, a mind possessed Embrace the encouragement from rousing cheers Relish the atmosphere, losing all doubts and fears Reach out that bit more securing a place in history Using everything to advantage, with natural ability The Olympics stimulate an urgent need to achieve With the whole world watching, wanting to believe Some have this obsession, others pledge to support Competing nations are closer and enjoying the sport Whatever dream or path a person chooses to follow This magnificent event encourages a new tomorrow |

Amethys, yep what a treat it is when the Olympic games come around. It’s raw, it’s real, it’s emotional. There’s something about seeing people who are truly great at what they do .. I love the honesty. Great television for a change!
