American Vacation

Recently I returned from a fantastic 8 day vacation to America,, I was in NY for two days where Reba and Hazel made me very welcome,, a delightful city, we dined at many different restraunts and I had a 3 hour cruise, , on the Hudson,, fantastic skyline, I also met English Export and Amica , we all had dinner together,, a wonderful experience,, a great pleasure meeting them.

On the Friday , with the help of sweet Reba I caught a bus to Pennsylvania, to the city of Wilkes Barre,, here I was met by PPattie,, what a delightful lady, she helped sort out my hotel, inadvertantly I had booked into the wrong Ramada hotel, it was in Scranton, a few miles away,, Pattie, bless her sorted out the problem,,she introduced me to her lovely family,, I met her beautiful and two of her sons,,was very impressed with them,

We covered many miles during those six days,, we went bowling, lololol, a first for me, those bowls weigh like cannon balls, , I really liked it,

We visited an anthracite mine,, it was fascinating,, It made me think just how lucky I was to be able to spend my life on the surface,, those miners,, very brave men indeed.

We went dancing,, its hard to believe but this also was a first for me, lol have spent my life on outdoor pursuits, I really like it, we did the twist,, lol got down but couldnt get back up,, the Electric glide, couldnt follow the movements, also a slow dance where the group played, "Unchained Melody",, this was the only sad part of the dance, it brought back memories ,, it was my wifes last request just before she died, she wanted the C,d but I couldnt find it so I sang it to her in the hospice,,, must admit to moisture from the eyes,, just slightly, lol.Pattie is a great dancer, has a natural grace, on the other hand, I felt like a grounded Hippo, hahahaaha.

We visited a comedy club, lololol, our table was right in front of the stage, on purpose????, hahhahaa, when they found out where I came from, was I hammered, lolol, had pain in my side from laughing so much... a fantastic evening. we also drove out into the beautiful countryside to visit an amusement park delightfully set among tall trees, we chatted, went on the rides, chatted more, lol, more rides,, it was a day to remember.
On the final day we drove about 40 miles to meet friend LUKN, at his daughters home,, he had parked his 18 wheeler close by, lolol, it looked like an aircraft carrier, so huge, very impressed with the colour and chrome,, we all dined together and visited a tavern, where we chatted and took pictures,, he is a great friend and true gentleman, it was an honour meeting him.
My day of sadness and departure,,,,, Pattie came to my hotel and we had breakfast together,, she waited until my coach pulled out,, my last vision of her waving goodbye,, Such a delightful, lovely lady,,
Reba met me in NY prior to my journey to JFK,we dined at a wonderful Mexican restraunt, said a sad farewell to a dear friend,,,
I flew from JFK to Geneva Switzerland whereI met friends and had a climb, lol sillyme fractured two ribs, hahaha, I tried to blame jetlag but in reality was my own fault,, was careless,, from there thence back to London. and Jack,, he has been spoilt rotten by my friends, rode evrywhere on Marias lap in the wheelchair, slept on their bed, he is quick to take advantage...

To all my wonderful friends I met over there,"THANK YOU" for making this a most delightful vacation ever,, bless you all

Great to see that you had a terrific holiday and really made full use of your time. I'm sure you'll never forget a single minute of your trip and also those that made it possible for you to get around so much. Are you planning to return ? Maybe bring Jack the next time ?

Dear Ceejay,

It was a pleasure meeting you too - must apologise for my singing early in the morning (know it wasnt too pleasant, but I was happy!)

Just to say I thoroughly enjoyed our time together and will treasure the pictures forever.

Please stay in touch and Reba would be only too pleased to give you my phone numbers should you want to visit this part of the country.

All the best, Keep Smiling,

I'm kinda late and behind the times but most blogs disappear so quickly, they are easy to miss unless you are really looking for them. Glad you enjoyed your USA visit. You and Loth get around more than I do. You gotta watch all those dinners out in restaurants, you will have to carry all that food around with you for a while where it shows. Maybe that's just me lol. Enjoyed your blog.

There are no words to describe New York City...
Truly an amazing place...
I grew up in New York (upstate)...
And a trip to the big city was always a treat!
