Where are you Mr. President in the Oil Spill?

Has anyone had enough of this BP incident? I turn on CNN every day for weeks and weeks thinking any day now it's gonna end. Any day now Obama is going to step up to the plate and at least present the image to the American people that he is a strong, decisive leader who is in total charge of this situation. Instead I see hopelessness in the eyes of Louisiana citizens living and working in the area for most of their lives and the aftermath of the gruesome deaths of birds, dolphins, and turtles dying by slow, tortuous suffocation from the oil until the end. And the most gruesome sight of all is BP and their CEO prancing around England singing "We're a big company, they're a big country" comparing himself with the mighty power of the United States Government while what may well turn out to be the greatest disaster in our country's history slither's it's way deeper into the Gulf of Mexico and Louisiana killing everything in it's path. You know what I hear? Silence.

Mr. President this will define your Presidency for the rest of history. This will be your legacy. That you claimed to be in charge for over 5 weeks yet David Gergen stated on CNN that he and Anderson Cooper also from CNN were on site, deep into affected an area affected by the oil spill in Louisiana and there were NO rescue, ground, or emergency crews to be seen as far as the eye could see! Yet you show up to your press conference the day before you finally took a trip to and say you are in charge, that you have been authorizing every move BP makes, and you are briefed every day. Yet the senior official on the hardest hit coast of LA has bee screaming out for weeks for you, Mr. President to roll out hot and snatch this entire operation away from BP! Wildlife, plant life, people's livelihoods, hell, their lives built up over years of sweat, hustle and joy, accomplishments, and irreplaceable livelihoods and now, only to lose some of those treasured things or everything! And the best you can do is tell us the most stressful thing you deal with in regards to this disaster is your young Melia working you as to whether you plugged the leak yet? It's your legacy Mr. President.

You've stepped up on other situations as President in your first 2 years and in others...well you've been consistent in pleasing everybody with fantastic and appealing speeches but you never manned up Mr. President. It's time. Right here. Right now. The world is watching. Whatever you believe about yourself, whatever we believe about you, we know deep down you are a good and honorable man. Do what's right for your hurting brothers and sisters. Put yourself in their shoes. Imagine waking up knowing you have no career, your life is over, your are so hopeless. Feel that in your own soul Mr. President.

And then march out with your entire cabinet, the attorney general, and the good Admiral you have already appointed as Supreme Commander over this disaster. Announce "The US government is taking control over this operation. BP CEO, all upper managers, and those involved in the gross corruption which in addition to possible crimes being committed may have led to the explosion and oil leak have been placed under arrest and have been indicted by the Attorney General. I will not be lied to, played with or trifled with and you sirs, let me introduce my self. My name is Barrack Obama and you just met the President of the United States. We are the US government and that very uncomfortable feeling where you sit is my foot all the way up your backside canal!"
