First photo with new camera.... ta da!

Drum roll please....... ta da!! lol.... well I jumped in feet first and took the first serious photo with my new camera. I am not sure how I got it that clear but will take it! OK... so maybe I can figure out how to run the camera after all....

Very nice pic, but I'd have framed the whole flower into the shot. Not pickin' on ya, just saying.

Ok, with digital it's really great because you can take heaps of pic and delete what you dont want.

Just a few simple tips;

I'd take a pic of the orchid, close, then one about 3" further back, then 6" then 9" etc, or whatever distances you like, and see which is the best. This will "get your eye in" You will then visualise stuff in your mind as to what would make a good picture with a bit of practice. This works from macro to landscapes.

By framing a pic I mean to get the whole flower into the picture without cutting bits off it. If you take a portrait photo of someone, you dont cut off half the head etc. That's what I mean by 'framing'
