Fire Update Thanks to everyone who commented and offered prayers and positive energy. Today was spent checking reports and maps while watching the plumbs of another fire near Santa Barbara in the distance. Alfie was correct when he said that it is like Hell on earth and the worst part of our fire season is yet to come. (Sept. and Oct) The fire still rages near our lake property but we had a bit of encouraging news today. CalFire maps show the burned area going around us but just barely so we don't know for sure that it was a miss or just looks that way. We also got word late this afternoon that our buildings and heavy equipment are among those being protected by firefighters.. No guarantee of anything but it is far better than learning we had lost everything. However, a small community of homes just across the lake from us lost several structures. Sadly it's the area where the bald eagles nest. So much destruction is hard to comprehend. The worst part is that this is just one of four fires burning at the moment all threatening homes, property and wild life. Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Thanks for the update. Having seen the destruction these fires do I can imagine the fear you and everyone have. Prayers for you and all the victims.

I cannot even begin to imagine the horrors and uncertainty that people face.... evacuated, and not knowing what they will have or not have when they return. At least, if there is a bright side, yours is buildings and machinery, not your home that is threatened. Praying for rain and success of those brave fire fighters. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Thank you for the update Spirit, sorry to hear that others have lost their homes near your property. Roxy is correct, Californians need to look at what is going on with their water supply, it goes deeper than what she has brought to your attention, and it's not just happening out in Cali, it's becoming nationwide.
