My Kind of Heaven I spent yesterday sharing another day with my 6 "old lady" cousins at one of their summer homes on a small local lakes. There are 5 or 6 guy cousins here for tomorrows celebration but none of them ventured to join us "cluckers". Amazing how we can all appreciate our families so much more when we don't get much time together. Why do we always need some excuse or reason together?  Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Looks so beautiful there!! I would love to be out in a boat on that lake! I wish I could get away just for a week to spend time with my brother and his wife, which I have been trying to do since this past December. Right now, my daughter needs my help until Michael, my son in law, gets out of rehab, that could be another 3 months for all we know. Seems like he's been in the hospital forever. Plus I can't leave because with everything going on in her life, I don't have an animal sitter. Life is in a holding pattern for now.

I wish we could go up to central Illinois where I grew up so I could visit some of my cousins. Maybe one day.........

I remember my grandpa's family had one reunion a year, and the only other time they congregated was for a funeral. It always sounded more like a reunion, and technically, it was. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Until the last few years that used to be a major part of going somewhere. Now that I am down to only a cat that actually lives with me it is much easier. this is where I spent my teen years and early adult years. Since there are seasonal extremes there is lots to pack into each season. There are many lakes and lots of things to pack into summer. Spiritwoman ^i^

Nothing like it, is there? Tomorrow I hope to get to one of the busy places you described. Now if anyone of my women cousins knew of a private place skinny dipping would definitely be on the agenda. Spiritwoman ^i^

The cousins from my dad's side of the family are like yours. Scattered and not in contact. Sad but at least those on my mother's side stayed close. Spiritwoman ^i^
