Some Words of Appreciation

While responding to another blog this morning I realized something very positive (at least for me) in this SFF blog community.

As I openly discuss I have ADD and dyslexia (the 2 often go together). I struggled with these all of my life and managed to succeed in the brick and motor world none the less. As I have aged these 2 bad boys have ganged up with arthritis in my hands (and elsewhere) to make typos even easier to do. Since I no longer have a "support staff" I no longer have a prof reader or wonderful clerical assistant but I refuse to let any of this hold me back.

While there are a couple who chose to attack me for other reasons no one has ever mentioned or criticized my writing / typing. THIS SHOWS AMAZING UNDERSTANDING AND KINDNESS IN A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHERE THERE IS SO MUCH CONTENTION AND OUT AND OUT MEAN SPIRITED INSULTS.

Just taking the opportunity to say thank you, thank you, thank you.

By the way if I make mistakes that are truly humorous please laugh at them - I do. I am often my own best source of amusement. Learning to accept ourselves as we are and laughing at ourselves when ever when can removes so much stress and makes the trip through this thing we call life so much more fun.

While I am at it another thank you to everyone for accepting my less than mainstream spiritual beliefs without attacking them. Politics are another area but since that is the arena for those who like to argue and be less than positive I avoid it entirely (well almost - Sometimes I just can't resist an off topic smart azz comment). Just rest assured that I do have some strong opinions on the issues (not the political babble of blaming others), vote and direct my energies to working on social ills in areas that can really make a difference and / or actually produce change. Another thanks for accepting this.

All this may sound too hippie-dippy for many but it works for me, even here. I have made many good friends both on line and in person, found some interesting and fun guys to date and 3 significant relationships through my connection with this site. There are a lot of things that irritate us about this site but it's important to remember the positives/ .

Spirit, I have never noticed anything wrong with your writing. Do you make the odd typo? Of course you do. We all do that. We're human. So no need to thank us. As far as your opinions, as with everyone else, you say what you want to and remain silent when you choose to. I enjoy reading your posts and want to thank you for what you add to this site.

We may differ a bit in our spiritual views, but that doesnt mean I dont like you. I really like your posts and enjoy commenting on them now and then. You're open, intelligent, make sense and I love that. Keep 'em comin' blog sister.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

I only read the blogs I enjoy, and it doesn't matter to me if there are the occasional spelling mistakes. Yours are always interesting and well written, I read all that you post, and enjoy them. I advise you to ignore the naysayers, I know I do!

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Hi Spirit: In all the years I've been reading your blogs I would never have known you are dyslexic or that you have ADD. What I have noticed is that you are one of the sweetest people on this site, always having something nice to say to everyone. We luvs u Spirit, so keep being you.

First of all good thoughts for the dog being found and in decent health. We have coyotes here as well. A friend and his family recently lost their dog to them. They went to all sorts of extra effort to secure a safe area for the dogs becasue the son boards them but their own dog was an escape artist. Hos last escape proved fatal.

If I am sane we are all in deep doo doo!!!!!

I know what you mean about skills not matching the experiences and I agree that these folks would not make it in the real world. Fortunately they made it this far to a point in life where we no longer need to compete for our daily bread.

It's very reassuring to hear that you have not caught the typos and other mistakes. Working with the written word no doubt makes you more aware of these things. I could probably do a better job of prof reading but blogs are for fun and extensive proofing is work.

Seeing things differently are what makes it interesting. You are one who is able to see but respect this and that makes interacting interesting. Isn't that what we are all here for? It's more than just a dating site.

Oh, I have learned to ignore them too - to the point that until it came up I lost sight of how fortunate I am to have people who overlook my imperfections and differences.

I try to interject positive energy in to things. Figure there is way too much disrupting forces at work in this world and too few who will take a stand against it and be positive.

Thank you. As I said in a previous comment I try my best to be kind and positive. That is my life purpose no matter what medium I work with. Unfortunately I also have a talent for recognizing BS and every so often the "calling it like I see it" part of me can't resist. In the beginning I had to put a lot of work into not taking the bait but most of the time now that comes naturally.

Thank you. You are one who I would really enjoy more in depth conversations with. One of these days when life stops getting in my way I will put more effort into working on my own blog site. It is there, ready to go but darn, these things like graduations, weddings, problems with running my facility and all sorts of life keeps getting in the way.
