Maybe I should Date Younger Men

Because as Madona quipped “They are great with phones”.

I’ve talked about my struggles as with electronic gadgets before. My brain is just not programed for their logic. I’ve also discussed my tendency to break my phones. My record is 3 phones in 8 months. My local phone store thinks I should contact manufactures to see if they might be willing to provide free phones in return for me field or beta testing them.

So why bother with the latest and greatest? Convenience. I have one little thing that can manage calls and texts, take pictures of better quality then any camera I have, act as a game device, connect me to the Internet and e-mail, keep my grocery list, play my music and many things I don’t use all in one. Best of all I almost always have it with me because it all comes in a small package.

However the complications with highly sophistic multipurpose devices are numerous. My latest? The phone I currently have will switch to camera mode with a couple of flicks of the wrist. I didn’t know this when I got the phone but was delighted when I discovered. No more losing my shot while going through a menu and pushing buttons. I love it

But there is a down side. All was well for weeks because I almost always keep in its special pocket in my purse, in my pocket or on the table or night stand. The other day I put it in my carrying bag when I went to the pool. No big deal. Later, when I went looking for a picture I wanted to transfer to my computer I found that the twist/ jiggle of the bag while I was walking activated camera. It took over 500 shots of the inside of the bag! In order not to accidently delete photos I wanted I had to go through and tag each one individually before deleting. Another task for 2 AM when I can’t sleep.

I’m sure there is a way to turn off the jiggle to activate feature but figuring that out will be a task. I’m thinking of taking Madona’s advice and dating one of the younger men who constantly contact us on here at least once so he can show me. If that works every time I have a problem with my phone I will accept one date with a younger man and have him fix it.

That's one way to solve the problem. An easier one might be to contact the manufacturer and ask them how to turn that jiggle function off.

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

Might work if I had the patience for the long wait and having to explain what I needed to 3 different people whom have a difficult time with English. I'm almost bilingual but the second language for the Southwest, Spanish doesn't work either.

Like I say about any job, if he can do it. But if they still use a flip phone with a keypad like my ex, who had 2 degrees in engineering and had done a stint programming satellites for the NSA I'm not so sure.

Lets just say his solution would be to totally disassemble the phone, re design and replace the parts, then create a unique operating system only he understands and maybe add an electronic garage door open. We don't have a garage but his reasoning would be it would be a good thing to have just in case we get one. Oh, don't forget a college level lecture in calculus of whatever to explain the mathematical probability of a repeat malfunction.

He retrieved my last broken phone, the one that was damaged so badly even the recycling service at the store didn't want it before input it in the electronic waste bin at Target. It is in pieces somewhere in the work room because he wanted to look a look at the battery to see if there might we a better way to extend the charge.

I could exchange cooking, interior decorating or clothing repair services. I could also paint - either a picture or the house.

I never thought of that. That is how I deal with the stuff in my spam email folder. And it didn't even have to buy you dinner.

You probably have nothing to worry about. I'll bet he still has his old flip phone.

Oh and I did get the e-mail the would be Santa. He must not be too oriented to time and place. His seasonal look is either 6 months too late or 6 months too early.
