New Addition

Introducing "Brutus", my new grand puppy. I was watching my grand daughters while my and her husband went out to dinner and a movie to celebrate their anniversary. They came home early because they got distracted while killing time for the movie to start. My in law surprised my with a new puppy. This one is going to be more of pony though. He is a great dane.

He's cute, Spirit. I hope he is a great addition to your daughter's family.

I used to take a neighbor's Great Dane walking when I took my Labrador Laddie out back in the UK. He was a really friendly character and Laddie and he used to have great fun. Such sweet memories.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

They are truly "gentle giants" which is one of the reasons they selected this breed.

This little guy loves to play as well. When they brought him in he immediately began playing with the very active dog they already have. I am sure these two will spend hours wearing each other out.

I always had large dogs as well. Their personalities are so different from smaller dogs. They are much less aggressive. I found that mine became very protective of my children, likely because they were breeds that are "working dogs". The smallest, a Australian shepherd / Springer spaniel mix, was the funniest. His herding instinct was very strong. When things got loud and / or rambunctious he would try to herd the kids and other dogs into a corner.

Fortunately my daughter has a huge fenced yard, another dog who loves to play and an 8 year old. They manage to keep this little guy busy or napping. He is excellent at night. No fussing from the first night. Best of all he loves everyone he meets. He has the makings of a perfect dog for her family.
