Country Roads Take Me Home

It was a beautiful sunny day in the 70's today. I took all country roads home - no freeways - and completely celebrated the fact that I made the decision some 40 years ago to move here.

This is the view through my windshield. Lemons to the right, avocados to the left and the mountains of my canyon right on the middle.

We have lots of roads like that around here too Spirit, we very often get in one of the vehicles and take a drive purely to view the scenery.

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

As a girl my Dad used to take us for rides in the countryside of central Illinois.

When my girl's Dad was overseas or at sea I would take them for rides and we never knew where we would end up.

To this day I still enjoy going for rides in the country.

Not really but they usually don't bother people taking one. I have a lemon tree on the back yard here and oranges, avocados and tangerines at my house in town so I am usually giving rather than receiving.

When I was growing up my grandparents often "took a ride" in the evening. It's been many years since I did that myself though. At the moment I am far enough out that going anywhere involves "a ride". As a result I often take the beauty for granted.

I have always thought it would be a real challenge for me to drive on the left British style but have a few friends who have done it and say it is not really a people. Chuck's son shuttles between London and DC on a regular basis and does not seem to have a problem but then he is just a "kid" of 43.

I think there are places that resonate with the individual. I did before I understood why. I was going to tell my whole story here but realized that it is another blog.

I love the country roads here, breathtaking scenery, fields, hills and forests not forgetting the coast with the small fishing villages.
    They can keep the motorway.
    Great photo.
I have heard from many that your countryside is beautiful and diverse.

My husband was a great one for exploring. Usually fun but occasionally very interesting, particularly when we were in the phoenix area.
