Wand

No, it's not m magic wand - there is no such thing. However a wand is a tool used in Pagan spiritual practices. We use it like prayer beads, to direct our energy and concentration.

Wands can be made from anything. They can be purchased but the best is to make your own. I never had one although I thought of purchasing a crystal one every time I would see one in a shop. A few months ago I decided to make my own worship tools. I had a knife (used to help focus mental clarity) that my husband made. After it was clean and polished I decided to add a wand. I may add some crystals to the handle but no inspiration at the moment.

I took a branch from a tree trimming and "sort of" worked on it here and there. I finally got it debarked and finish on it a few weeks ago. Over the past week I attached the crystal on the end then added the other stones. These are stones I collected at Moonstone beach last summer and tumbled and polished. The finished product definitely has my energy infused in it. Not sure it will help my focus my energy (what many call prayer or meditation) but we will see.

More than likely both of these "tools" will be part of my decor, which is looking more and more like an art gallery every day.

Excellent - I shall be grateful, SpiritGorl, if you can posta picture of the complete art gallery. If that is not pssible, you can possibly consider a collage.

Thanks.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

You wanna be careful waving that thing around, it looks lethal to me, you're liable to injure someone who might be standing in the way minding their own business!

Very nice.

You can almost get a feel of a spiraling flow of condensed energy, a perpetual reservoir to be called upon when you need to renew or expand you personal energy. Like a self made stave to aid you over a rough terrain. I have one I use when I go on long hikes.

I do have a couple of stones that could be Obsidian but I'm not positive since other than the main quartz crystal they are polished pebbles I found on the beach.

you caught the purpose. Also gave me an idea for a much needed walking stick. There are times when I cane would be helpful but I have been declining to use one as I hate to advertise my aches and pains.

now that would be cool. If we could just extend that to society and the world. Actually we can. Some call it prayer, some meditation and some of us channeling energy. Now if we all did this instead of bitching and fighting..............
