Better Get Your Tinfoil Hat

Or whatever you count on to protect you from the unknown.

The past week I finally finished a long term project. My gave me an old denim shop coat that was too small for him figuring that I could "turn it into something awesome". Not so sure about awesome but it is very complex. The entire back is a tree of life using a combination of applique, embroidery and beading.

Today is a low energy (or at least I thought) day for me so I am tying up loose ends, one of which was get this project photographed and added to my album. The pictures were taken in a controlled light situation, with the same camera by the resident scientist / technician who noticed no change in anything and definitely did not put his finger in the way.

The last photo in the collage (actually one of the middle ones in the sequence) has one of those strange light effects that appear in photos from time to time.

Leaves little question where my energy went today. Maybe this explains why I have been setting off the alarms when I go in or out of stores that have them as anti-theft devices and why an unusual number of car alarms have been going off when I walk through parking lots in the past few weeks. Or maybe she knew something more than she thought when my gave me a coffee mug that says "Don't annoy the crazy person."

I'm almost afraid to say this but as for cool - due to our unseasonably strange weather this year it hasn't been "cool" enough to wear this.

Definitely something spooky, although I have had many such experiences so they do not frighten me.

TY. I'm surprised Chuck still goes along with my projects. He is a non believer and this is not the first "weird" thing his science can't explain that he has witnessed happening around me. It's a bit much fro a good Jewish boy.

That it could be. I did put a lot of energy into the coat, both in terms of on going design and revision and actual work.

It does appear I am being "poked". I would love to know the history of the coat. My son was not sure where it came from or exactly how he came to be in possession of it.

If it were my house I would say definitely as I have seen the ghosts there but never here. In fact my initial observation was that this place was devoid of energy of any sort. Looks like I may have done too good of a job of infusing mine!

Mrsdinty and I are no strangers to the paranormal, we believe and have had many experiences.

Spirit, I found it amusing that your blog came soon after Callie's blog about ghosts on her farm. Yes, it does appear to be energy flowing from that coat. I don't discount for a moment that such things happen probably more frequently than we realize. I know that when I was a child, I saw pretty colors surrounding people all the time. I soon realized that it was not something I talked about, so I kept it quiet. As I grew older, the colored lights disappeared for the most part. Rarely, they show up again. Never made me afraid however, never, until my family reacted negatively to my telling of them, did I think they were wrong or bad. I think when we pass on we will all be amazed at what this world was all about. We only experience a small part of it. You see to experience more of it than most. oh.. I almost forgot to tell you how beautiful the coat is.
You saw / see auras. They are the energy fields that surround all living things. I can see them as shapes but not colors - bummer. As for ghosts - my house in town has a couple. The main one is an old woman. After some research and just plain luck I was able to verify that she lived there before the people I bought the house from.

I have all sorts of extrasensory experiences. Nothing to be afraid of. I "see" it as a matter of frequency. Human sight and sound has a limited range of perception and there are many things beyond these ranges. You are so right about there being much more going around us than we know. Some of us have sight or hearing and perhaps other senses that goes beyond the normal human range. An audiologist actually confirmed that my hearing range is broader than most humans. As he put it I hear "things only dogs are suppose to hear".

Like you I had far greater abilities as a child but turned them off once I learned they were not acceptable. Next came religion telling me that they were the work of the devil. It took years for me to see them as gifts, not curses. I often wonder what my life would have been like had these things been encouraged and I had been given guidance in their development. It did not fully appreciate my "extras" until I went back to my Strega roots.

Hi Spirit: That is spectacular. Did you sew the design on or is it glued on? Are there sequins or bling of some kind on the tree leaves? I think you should cut it down to make a bomber-style waist length denim jacket, which would look super with dress pants. That last pic looks a lot like Caspar the Friendly Ghost. lol

Me too. This is just the latest. I have had 2 men in my life who were scientific type engineers. After sharing some of my experiences they had to admit that there is no scientific explanation for some of the things they observed. My late husband was too "Christian" to believe in any of this but after my resident house ghost tossed his magazine across the room a couple of times he became a believer and realized that these experiences are not evil or harmful.

TY.

It is a combination of techniques. The tree trunk is an applique of other material hand sewn on. The branches are embroidered on. The leaves and blossoms are plastic beads (plastic becasue they are light) which were sewn on individually then glued into position.

As for making it a short jacket - I already have 2 jeans jackets and a couple of denim shirts which is what attracted me do this long one. Now all I need is a few cooler days (which we would normally have this time of year but nothing so far this year)

TY Hard to say as I worked on it on and off over a period of 6 months. Each part became a bit tedious becasue it is so large. I would get sick of it or need to do something else so would put it aside for a while. I also got the coat the end of April last year and knew I wouldn't wear it in the summer but surprise - as you know it's still summer here this year.
