Always the Mom I had one of those days when I am doubly glad for modern technology. My youngest has always been very insecure and depends on my for moral support on everything. Yesterday her youngest had an accident at school and ended up at the ER. I normally go with her but being 1500 miles away I couldn't this time. Thank god for modern technology. Text videos and other electronic communications allowed me to just about be there. Being the day before pay day my did not have the cash in her account for the ER. Technology allows for instant transfer etc between linked accounts. Poor Izzy was playing rough and did a face plant into a tree. Scraped her face up badly and split her lip. No stitches as they glued the skin together. So far so good. It is holding and will leave less of a scar. She was a real trooper and did well but look at this expression. It says it all! I guess we would be lost without all this modern technology if it were ever taken away from us, wouldn't we? I'm glad to hear Izzy will be okay. Alfie...

It is hard being so far from grandchildren, or children. It sounds like Izzy will be ok. Love the name!

Great start on the tan - about 10 days to go so I should be approaching summer color when I return. Chuck has not been doing well so I am spending more time than usual laying around reading etc. but that is fine with me. I have my computer, books and a couple of art projects (other than painting, and tarot cards so I am good to go whereever for however long. Spiritwoman ^i^

Depends on what plan you have. She has a deductable but does not have to pay the full amount. Mine has a small co-pay (medicare advantage) My sister who is on Medicaid does not have to pay anything. If you don't have any coverage you have to go to the local county hospital where they can not refuse you treatment but you run up a bill and sign away your life. Most people are never able to pay even a portion of the bill and many are forced to declare bankrupcy as a result. Ultimately the ER treatment is the same for all. This is one of the reasons many of us in the US advocate for a government run health care system. I lived in Canada so got to experience both systems and believe me the government system is far better. Spiritwoman ^i^

I remember the hassle with calling Europe. When my kids lived in Germany I could not call them on my cell at first (early 2000). 6 months later I sort of could but it was not easy and very very expensive. Spiritwoman ^i^
