Foto Friday - Self Portrait I love Foto Friday - not just for the display of people’s thoughts and efforts but for the fun developing some of the topics generates. I am the first to admit I am not much of a photographer because so many mechanical aspects are involved but using modern, simple cameras the creative aspect really comes to life for me. Some of the topics inspire lots of “discovery”. Self Portrait was one of these projects. I looked up the photographer’s work and figured I couldn’t come up with anything. When I got out of bed the next morning and caught a reflection of myself in a star shaped decorative mirror next to the bed. Of course that was a scene I could not post but it proved to be an Ah ha moment. I carried a camera with me through the day and found examples of reflections and shadows everywhere. I never even gave that a thought before My efforts (starting at top left and moving clockwise) include: A mirror reflection of me with my quilt, my Aztec Sun painting and feather creation in the background My reflection on my car (where door meets front fender) Reflection in star shaped mirror with my sunrise / sunset painting Shadow of me and my bike in swimming pool Reflection in sliding door to porch / patio area with my Aztec face pumpkin (still in good shape since Halloween). Star of David and Pentagram signifying my Jewish / Pagan household on the sliding glass door. Shadow of me on my bike in parking lot with hills in the background  Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Way to go! You definitely got the idea. Not only that, but by carrying your camera around with you (assuming it's small enough), you often encounter new and unique photo moments. I try to remember to keep my small camera with me whenever I even go to the store....just in case. "Life isn't fair, but it beats whatever comes in second." -- Gentleben
