Foto Friday - Pets Over the years I have had many, many pets - my own, the 's, and some the neighbors dropped off because I am "an animal person" and they knew I would know what to do with them. Here are some of my favorite - most unique. The photo on the left is of my and my current dog, Penni, a golden retriever. I can't keep her where I am now so she lives with my and gets spoiled by his girl friend. Top middle is Mama Deer. We had this mother deer who used to come into camp and hang out with us for a couple of years. She would lay at my feet like a and loved Cheetos. One year she brought her fawn with her. Middle center is my current cat, wimpy. He is a Ragdoll cat and thus very affectionate, lazy and not so bright. Bottom center is Bobby Bird, the starling. I rescued him from a cat as a featherless hatchling and hand raised him. He lived to be about 6 and learned to talk. He would sit on my head and eat green apples and whole wheat bread. That was the only food he ate. On the right is Kissie, my very favorite ever. She defied all of the negative press about Rottweiler. I loved so much I had her cremated when she passed and her ashes will be scattered along with me and my husband in the high sierra. Spiritwoman ^i^ |

Nice sequence of shots of some unusual pets. What would we do without our pets, eh?

Some beautiful pets there. I particularly like that beautiful cat and the doe. The doe reminds me of when I was Officer in Charge of the Naval Radio Station, Jim Creek, Washington. The Radio Station is located in the Cascade Mountain foothills and is over 5000 acres in size. As you can imagine, it is loaded with deer. While I was there, there were about 10 or 11 deer which would come to the front door each afternoon to "mooch" for apples. The station employees would bring me all their "wind fall" apples, which I kept in a side shed, and when the deer came, we'd grab several dozen and cut them up for the deer. In the spring, the does that gave birth to fawns would bring them down for us to see. What a joy that was. Thank you so much for the post and for bringing back some fond memories.
