It Takes All Approaches Last sunday I got a call from a friend of almost 40 years. She was hospitalized in serious condition with septicemia. The IV antibiotics were not working and she was having difficulties with the doc. She requested that I visit and help her dispel the negativity with a healing ceremony. I was not entirely sure about all of this because in the hospital I could not use candles or incense or wear my prayer robe and had to be somewhat "normal". We talked for a long time reminiscing about funny things we had experienced during our friendship and talked about her fears and concerns. I preformed an abbreviated ceremony and did a tarot card reading. My sense was that she would overcome this immediate problem but that other challenges lay ahead. While it did not look a if it would be easy it did appear that she could succeed. I left her looking very ill and drifting off to sleep. The next day I got a call from her - she was home! Although not out of the woods her temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and blood work had all returned to acceptable range. In addition the doc she has problems with was very nice to her and amazed at her sudden turn around. So was it the antibiotics finally kicking in or spiritual healing? My opinion is that it takes both, everything science can do assisted by strong spiritual support. We should never leave any stone unturned.
