What a wonderful subject "Nostalgia" was!!! The many pictures brought back such tender memories for me.

BTW...I'm sooo glad that you let that requirement slide!!!!

Hi Star, and thank you for your comment. My temporary living situation here is such that I was not able to review and comment early on in the day. By then, several folks submitted photos which obviously had not been taken by them. My original intent was to follow the guidelines, but everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and I arbitrarily made the decision to let that guideline slip. I apologize that I upset a few folks, but most seemed to have enjoyed the event...and, for my money, that's what it is all about. Yes, photography is the objective, and yes, if we don't follow the guidelines, there perhaps is no point in having guidelines. And you will also note that I've always avoided the word "rules".....guidelines I think is more in keeping with the intent of Foto Friday. As I said previously, I apologize that I upset a few folks....and as I already stated, I'll try to be more of a "hard ass" in the future, LOL

Oh rats Mike I did have some nice cool pictures of days of yore when I was a kid but they were taken by my parents so I didnt use them. Pehaps a subject for future foto friday would be childhood pictures and clearly announce that its ok for another to have taken them.

Mike i thoroughly enjoy the photo fridays and the glimpes it gives of others way of life around the planet

sadly ive nothing left from my childhood and as ive never been a gadget man i have no photographs of my exciting career , millions where taken and i am trying to track down people who where there

Nostalgia this week as ever excellent ~ maybe one time we could have a general nostalgia topic so those who have an interesting image of the past can submit it along with its story

Hi Blackie. You've just given me a great idea, and your suggestion, together with others, will definitely be put to use after our "holiday break". Thanks to you and all the bloggers for your support. Mike
