the house on 89th.... *update* This song was actually my second attempt at songwriting back in 1979..*YUP*that long ago..lol..It was played almost nightly when I performed as a acoustic singer/songwriter/entertainer ,back in the early 80's...Last summer,I drove back thru the old neighborhood,and passed the old house. The owners who were there now were actually the ones who bought this house from us.They were outside working on the lawn,so I stoped to say hello and talk of the past.They actually remembered me as a ,and even walked me around the yard....THEN ...invited me inside,and walked me thru EACH room....For a half and hour..I was young and home again..*sigh*..the memories came thick and often.. I was left speachless from this older couples warmth and openess to me.... so..I thought I might add this song/blog for others to read..I hope it brings back as many thoughts of your growing up,as it did for me ,when I found it again..thank you for reading..*Heartfelt* |

Thanks for sharing both of these! I have been back to 2 houses I lived in, one as a child and one when my girls were little. The memories that hit as soon as you walk in!! The things that were still the same brought the most of course. I had tears reading the 2nd part, when you went back to the house on 89th. I would love to hear you singing this song. Ann
