Tio Toms and Texas Toms I know people in Texas don't get it . I know they don't understand what their system provides. This shooting, in Uvalde was result of failure of citizens oversight (because they don't know any better) and the failure of governing and policing responsibility.. The priorities and responsibilities of the policing forces have been manipulated. The priority of policing in any city near the border. We think in terms of separation of power and duties. But it's not that way in Texas. Whether you're called local police , state police, border police or school police.. Their priorities are the same.. Protect the property of those in power, and help to secure the border. Of Course, Texans ship illegals to other States and cities and call them "sanctuary" You can argue that it's bad when State and local police do not support ICE. Yet I would choose to argue they have their priorities and responsibilities in order. To Protect and Serve.. Who were the Uvalde Police the State Police protecting and serving? |

Of course there is a difference between policies and political behavior. Texas is a Republican stronghold....With a diverse American demographic. In doesn't make sense The powers in the State of Texas.. Understand Trump, understand instituitons control and power. Like Trump, the institution in Texas are OWNED by those in power and the citizens have little to say about it. In Texas it's not about the policies.. It's the power to institute policies without confrontation or condemnation. It's about religion and wealth. The idea is that policing is about Protecting and Serving those in power. Texas has election control. the ability for the citizens of Texas to oust those that do not protect and Serve them is non-existent. Everything that happens in Texas is preordained.. and any disagreement is just for show and tell. Lokk at the race for Governor.. and the candidates. Beto is is running around like a chicken with his head cut off. while Abbot just sits and waits.. He sits and waits because the "fix" is in. In any other State the current governor would have concerns and speak up. No other Republican State does what Texas does.

Democrats want to talk about what Biden has done.. Stimulus payments, college debt, infastructure.. But for most us that has very little impact.. and the idea are long term . Stimulus payments have been eaten by the increase in inflation.. helped along by those stimulus payments. Democrats talk about table issues.. but have no idea what table they sitting around. The key issues like Election security in each State., then voting rights, women's rights, accountability and guns are talked about but nothing seems to get done.. Well today the democrats finally did something for ME.. I am getting an almost 9% increase in my social security.. Maybe that doesn't matter to most of you..but it matters to me. I know if Republicans had the power it wouldn't have happened.

Jiminy thanks for this thought provoking blog. You got it right. The president made a good point recently concerning student loan forgiveness versus business loan forgiveness. Some corporate stooges are talking against forgiveness for the little people while not mentioning or considering business loan forgiveness. Everything falls on the non represented little people.
