WYOMING....There are no more "Cowboys"

When one thinks of Wyoming.. You may think of the cowboy life.. and the stewardship of a land of free movers and free range.. but it's about the stewardship of the land owners, the ranching of animals, and Wyomings resources.....throughout history the misnomer has been wealth was derived from owning land.. but that's not true. The wealth was always accumulated by OWNING the people of that land.. The people of Wyoming are just an agriculture, a raised animal for production, they are being drilled and fracked.. Hagerman was not elected to change things, to return the power to the people, it's just another LIE... She was elected so no one else could change things.. She even said it......Yes Wyoming is not about it's people, it's about someone's land, someone's cattle and someone's energy. And the "Land Owners" that owns YOU... The people of Wyoming are getting what they deserve. There are NO 'good guys' in "Yellowstone", Yogi Bear will never find that picnic basket and "Casper" is NOT a friendly ghost.

didn't change a thing and this was banned.

As Wyoming views the insignificance of Mt Rushmore....and choose to chisel the face of Donald Trump in the Rocky Mountains. to go along with Arizona and Texas putting his face on a border wall,, and Evangelicals putting his face alongside Jesus.
For them it's the "Cowboy Hero" that will live on forever.

It's funny I can be so different.. in that I just want to remove his face from next to the whiskey.. and put it behind a different kind of bars.

When I think of Wyoming, I don't think about Cowboys, I think of the dozen or so nomadic Indigenous tribes who lived there before the Europeans showed up, killed all the buffalo, decimated the people in their greed for gold and defaced their spiritual sites........

Nothing Changed.. It's still about cowboys or indians.. Land owners or Americans. energy companies or trees. mining or mountains Cattle or wildlife. The Air or the Wind.
Amricans in Wyoming are .. The indians, the workers, the mountains, the trees, and the wildlife... all commodities......to serve their purposes

"You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name

You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew

How high does the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know

Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon,
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?

While Canada is up front about addressing this issue, you need to read your own history regarding 'boarding schools' and the treatment of indigenous peoples in your own country.

There is enough recrimination to go around. Everywhere European invaders went this happened.

Thank you Rocket for your concern about my education. I am well aware because my great grandparents were among those removed from North Carolina. Just saying everyone needs to stop finding faults in other countries and
be a positive influence in this world. This back and forth is becoming tiresom.

My comment was not specifically aimed at the US.....The blog is about Wyoming, so that's what my comment was about.....The only time I was in Wyoming, I was a teen and my father was fascinated by how the indigenous tribes had moved from one area to another according to the seasons, the movement of the buffalo and the ripening fruit....I later learned that they were placed into reservations and forced by the army to stay there and many starved to death......There are documentaries with photos taken at the time.......

Maybe you are on the same bandwagon as other Republicans that want to scrub history and pretend bad things never happened......censor education and burn books......

You seem to be unaware that you contributed to the back and forth.......If you want to cancel history, go ahead, but some of us want to learn from it.......

Funny how as Americans we totally forgive our own history while waging war on others for theirs. Quite often the same offences we forgive ourselves for..
History is written by the winner, it is written by the survivor.
We have people that complain about China and the covid virus, and play the blame game. Indigenous Americans had white traders and pox infected blankets.
That is right, germ warfare is nothing new.
Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, but how did the people the natives save really repay them.......in the long of it, not so good.

Wyoming can make you angry.. make you feel horrible.
Make you hide the shame or point to the blame
Make you find a friend or see a "deplorable"
But those "Cowboys" to me...".. just make me sad.

Those who cannot hear a tree fall in the wood
Or see the purple mountains majesty
That birds can fly and they never could
And hating them for it.. is not a travesty

For those who cast the first stone in sin
And do unto other before they do unto you
And only with someone's defeat. can they win
And telling Lies is what the truth will do

Who cannot feel the wind in their hair
Nor hear a baby cry
To not smell the roses every where
and Never ask themselves why?
