I voted Today

First time ever in a primary election.
Since I am not party affiliated i could only vote on the Constitional amendment in Kansas.
I believe the abortion issue has two sides.. but in this election I really didn't have a choice.
First I believe i had the right to vote.. Yet because this is a primary election and I am unaffiliated i did not receive a ballot nor a voting poling place.
The referendum that is written is purposely confusing
The legislature of Kansas lies
the supporter of banning abortions in Kansas flat out lie
The churches in Kansas also lie.
People have been sent emails that are Absolute purposeful lies to get them vote Yes.

So I voted No.. not because this election was about abortion.. but because this election identified what wrong with this entire country... this election was about HOW we should be governed not about abortion

I will be shocked if the amendment doesn't pass..
There is little hope for this country

But lets wait and see what happens when the Kansas State legislature bans abortions. and places punishments on those who try to get one... As they try to get the Scarlet A back in fashion. As they choose to use vigilantism for law enforcement. And try to avoid the father financial responsibility for the unwanted pregnancy.
Fathers in Kansas worry about their daughter.. never realizing the impact this will have on the lives of their sons. Sons with unwanted pregnancy.. how many fathers have paid for abortion for their sons.. Why?
Well no more why's. Sons will become financially and morally responsible. To a father that will ruin their lives.

I have never voted in a primary election either. I was never a part of any political party and waited for the general election to pick which candidate I most wanted in office and voted for that person, not the party. I'm a bit surprised to find a state constitution amendment on a primary ballot instead of the general election that draws more voters to the ballot booth.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Yes. Forgetting your opinion on abortion.. that alone is a reason to vote no.
this is not just Kansas. this is how those people want the government to be run.
with lies and manipulations.

I was not even given the information to vote..because unaffiliated voters were denied their voting rights ..which is normal for a primary.. That's why they put this in this election instead of the general election

I do vote in primaries but that's been more of a commitment in the last 20 years when I sense an incumbent needs to go, or there is a serious threat of some kind of nut ending up on the ballot. Part of my motivation when I don't sense much of a prospect of upset is to do my part to help signal turnout trends to my party, and thus hope to help shape outreach efforts or messaging needs.

I was worried about the Kansas vote...very worried because such an important issue was tucked into an August primary election. What the hell was that??? We are in so much trouble in America.

Well I don't think I ever been more surprised.. I thought maybe a win could be squeaked out.. but not this.. Johnson county voted 70% NO... So what did i learn.. don't be fooled by the loudest screamers, the political abilities of the church, the manipulations, and the out and out lies.
I have regained some faith in people's intellect.
Now, I have to regain some faith in their memory.
WE disagree about the How and the What.. But the real issue now about the difference between Democrat and Republican is about HOW we are to be governed.

Let me just say that video of the reaction to the vote when it came in from Overland Park just blew my mind. I'm referring to a report aired on MSNBC. Now THAT gave me serious hope that Democrats can keep the senate at least...and I'm hoping they can keep the House, but if not....republicans are going to be hounded with historic rebuke for the next 2 years and I intend to be very vocal. You wouldn't believe the pure shit they throw my way on a daily basis on Microsoft Start.

Thank you Overland Park women...I truly hope women all over the country put their foot down...this crap can't continue.

I think you make a mistake..You think this about abortion and how that will politically effect electing Democrats. but you are wrong,

There are issues that the politcal nature is entirely made up.. Abortion is one of them, so is guns.. People don't need to be Democrat or Republican to decide these issues..

How this referndum was initiated.. How they tried to push it through, how they made it confusing, and how they lied.. That is the issue.

The Republican Trump position about everything is about How they want to govern. what they will do to govern... This vote said... no way they are going to get away with it.
