Supreme court strrikes down gun permits.

The purpose of the Second amendment was for citizens to be able to fight tyranny.. in all it's shapes and sizes. it was written to protect our Republic....and from those who would destroy it..Owning Guns so the we can walk the streets as free men.

There certainly is a dilemma, when good number of citizens believe our Republican has become corrupt and tyrannical.

The use of public guns to fight tyranny has always been considered "the last resort"
It was never written for self protection, but protecting a free society..

Those who profess the second amendment as a right to open carry.. Create an irony that's unbelievably obtrusive.. At least it is for me..

I can't believe people could be so different than me... how I lose some freedom to walk around when there is open carry.. and basically lose all my freedom when i walk around with people open carrying an AR -15 type weapon.
That is Tyranny.

If someone is not wearing the blue...I don't want to see them strapped.
Telling me they are "protecting" themselves, and then i have to wonder who's protecting me from them

The people Who support open carry... support intimidation....a basic tenet of tyranny.

And so I refer back to the Second Amendment...That their intimidation and right to kill me.. gives me the right to kill them..an eye for any eye...Until we all become blind.

And so it is.. my only reason to go out and buy an AR-15 type weapon..is not to protect myself from criminals..But to protect myself, others, and this country from THEM.

What don't you understand/. The Proud boys, the oathkeepers, skinheads, naZis, and White supremacists running this country.
The Second amendment was written to prevent tyranny.....not support it.

Anybody who reads you... knows you are a fricken crazy man..
So much of what you say.. doesn't deal with reality
You make veiled threats..and believe yourself to be intimidating.
you live in a world of distrust, conspiracies, persecution, and hatred
You are your own boogieman that is out to get you.

I try to get people to see more of the light...but there are some like you it scares me, Not what you will do to me..if you see light but what will do with your own life..when you realize what you have done

I think of a Beatle's song.. A day in the life

I read the news today—oh, boy
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well, I just had to laugh
I saw the photograph
He blew his mind out in a car
He didn't notice that the lights had changed
A crowd of people stood and stared
They'd seen his face before
Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of Lords.

Today is yet another example of the absurdity of 'originalism', which is a con for the sole purpose of 'making law', the very thing that republicans have whined about for so many years. When it's convienent they use it, when it won't tip the balance it's like a crooked major league pitcher who slips a piece of sandpaper in his pocket when a player who can't hit comes to the plate. What is so sad here is the court chose to cheat the American people without an obvious reason to do so. It's probably not credible to accuse 2 justices of corruption here, money for example. Is there a subversive motive? I don't know, they all know the law and they know they have a lifetime appointment. We can expect a lame argument, if the congress wants to change the law they can change the law. That argument is such a pathetic leap out the backdoor to escape accountability. Can you imagine a court that just rubber stamps what any congress wants to do? That's where we are headed here, the interpretation of 'historical' assessments, subjective thinking run amok. So, I ask again, is there a subversive motive here?

There is only one way to find out and I'm not sure we can get there. In my view, we have a deep conspiracy inside the republican caucus on the Senate Judiciary committee. I think multiple members of that committee are up to their necks in dark money and subversion, some cleverly overt, and then there is the question of what isn't. They are working hard to insulate themselves. Those senators need to face subpoena for documents and phone records surrounding Jan 6th. They were all blatantly obstructive in their public statements and lack of attention regarding the obstruction of 'transition' activity. Not only was that dangerous, but that was subversive in motivation. One has to ask the question, was the Supreme Court in on the conspiracy then, and, are they in on it now with 'originalism' as the vehicle to untangle democracy...unleash crime, strip away women's rights and God knows what else the court is going to do in the next 2 years...and then, it's really over.

We do see different ending to our democracy..

You think people are too stupid and will just go along with it..Although you and I see the writing on the wall now....Our writings are different for the future.

Trump may have been a giant leap that we failed as a country to recognized..But what I know is these people can't stop themselves. It's in the nature of getting away with something.. if you re willing to do it in the first place.. you are more than willing to push the enveloped.

It's in the future that we will come to realize what's happening.. For those folks, who do it, there is no going back. and eventually everyone will say to themselves "how the f*ck did we get here?" They just don't see we are there yet.
That, my friend, will end the old ways of our democracy.

Cricket, you've won me over many times in the past several years and nobody I've read or communicated with has come close to nailing what Trump is all about more than you have, far ahead of others. However, it was clear to me, as a study of post WW I Germany and Hitler's rise to power, that Trump was taking a page out of that era calculating that he too could use a hybrid fascism to grab power and similarly engineer a way to hang onto it. I know, from experience in blogging here and elsewhere, that I was way ahead of the country in seeing the threat. Years ago I might not have seen it so clearly. Part of the reason for this was pure coincidence, a later in life fascination with the evolution of foreign policy and frankly witnessing the slow evaporation of statesmanship in the congress, particularly in the senate when the filibuster replaced debate and the contest of ideas. I started to grow concerned with propaganda spilling out in talk radio and I grew alarmed over what Trump was saying, and how he was saying it early on after he entered the race. I knew what I was witnessing and the parallels were so striking it was obvious to me that Trump saw an opportunity and he followed Hitler's play book - use democracy to destroy democracy. I think Romney helped him along, exposing the calculus that you can actually lie to get elected if it just gives you 1 more than 50% the others just don't matter...until later maybe. Trump had the one thing nobody else had...a willingness to burn anybody or anything down to get what he needed.

People are too stupid to stop this stuff Cricket. They are too detached from politics to think about the impact of manipulation - where it comes from, when it's dangerous and when it's not, and what it takes to prevent manipulation from getting out of control. They are too removed from what happened in 1930's Germany and why it happened. It's out of control now, and I'm worried the army that is trying to save the nation is outnumbered.

Things in Germany were real bad before Hitler.. and people there was grasping at straws.

We are coming from the greatest nation in the world..We already control our own destiny.. unlike Germany.

So we disagree.. I believe Trump was too early.. this country has never been bad enough.. for people to retain their stupidity.

You think what's happening doesn't mean anything.. Trump and republican are destroying themselves. Roe v wade has totally screwed them up.....they have been hiding State takeovers for years.. With roe V wade going to a State issue.. they can't hide anymore...It will be the focus in November. A conspiracy that becomes a State one for Democrats than a federal one for Republicans.

That's just way too stupid to even respond to...but there's on thing that unites republicans and a horse...an ass.
