Looking forward

At my age I understand what there is to look forward.. It's not a pretty sight...Yet, I have had my opportunities, I have had my choices, I have had my freedom. It's is through the up and downs of that.. That I can carry on...better times don't have to be ahead. As long as i can still see the good times ahead even though may be fewer and farther between.. I have known such things fewer and father between
I have lived in the time of the greatest generational. Freedom, choices, and opportunities, even if I didn't take advantage of them all. Well, let be honest I fucked up most of it.
As I look at my grandkids..the sadness overwhelms me.. There has never been a generation in which they didn't believe a better life lay ahead for their ..until now.. My grandkids will never know what i know..about life and the way it could be..even if it wasn't.. They just won't have a better life than I have had.
Our generation failed to achieve the most important goal.. preserving that which made it great. We just couldn't get enough as to leave something left over.
It may be hard to understand ...but that's what freedom does.
Freedom takes.. it doesn't give. Giving doesn't require freedom

Do you think what happening in this country is going to make it better for our children?
Is there a plan for the future... as to how to make it better for our children?

It seems rather silly to not understand. That allowing mass murder in our schools. can contribute..but can't compare to the psychological murder of a generation.

Can't you see it's happening?

My brother got mad at me because of a response similar to what I'm going to say.
We grew up with basic stuff. Times where color tv was a luxury, sex education just hit High Schools. Wasn't my best subject to say the least. To be able to use the rotary fun to call a friend. I tried to raise my children, with more easy hand, didn't give them an allowance, but bought them what they needed and wanted. Now they raise grandkid. AND YES I am probably the worst spoiling grandma or at least second ! But with both parents having to work, kids r being babysat by technology. Our kids were raised to be free thinkers, undisciplined, no religion, and feel they know more than everyone else. They can purchase or steal weapons and no consequences for anyone. Its just a sad world we live in. I just see some social media things like TikTok and Yubo being a problem. But it's just my opinion and feel like we kind of dropped the ball somewhere

Who knows, maybe your grandkids will emigrate to another land.....A land that fits their need for another frontier.......Maybe they will choose to live in Africa or Mexico or Iceland...You can't dream for your children...or your grandchildren.....It's their turn.....I'm was a reluctant immigrant to this land, my parents chose to leave their home after it was devastated by an invading army that stayed for 5 years......If I could choose, I would live in Norway.........the Norway of today, not of the 50s...Your grandchildren have their own youthful hope and enthusiasm....There is lots of room in the world yet.

We tend to think of things..our rotary phones or their technology..We, however had a choice...we could use the phone ....write a note.. or just yell across the street..
You think the kids nowadays have the same choices they really don't...Technology is overwhelming.
In our lifetime we could make the choice to run away from it all and still find happiness. Join a commune or become a hermit....but our children have no community or hermitage. there is no where to run..
We had open eyes and open hearts...That allowed us to see and feel the mistakes in our lives.mistake that were made because we had choices. mistakes we could learn from and move on from.. No suck luck for the next generation.
Of Course it hard to see the stranglehold on the next generations, and how their only outlets will require "mental illness"
they talk of guns and mental illness..those are things.. What they don't talk about is what's causing it..things like the lack of respect and trust..We think we teach new generation from books..and schools..But it begins at home and through the neighborhood and the community.. not books and schools.
People may think we can change it..Can't happen......There is too much happening we can't change....there can no longer be Peace..and peace of mind.. WE are confronted with a shortage of resources Where demand must fight for the supply, global warming, that will further limit resources. population increases that that further the demand. Where wealth becomes greed, and the wealthy no longer immune. There is a battle coming and it's unavoidable.. There will be no place to run and no place to hide.
Our children will suffer the consequences.. their lives will not be like ours.. it will not be better than ours.
So let me ask you what have you taught your grandchildren lately? have you taught them the fantasy life of yours.. or have you taught them how to survive?

you choose to compartmentalize.. that the way it was.. that's the way it use to work.

now it's all leakage..it's all a virus. you can't escape...you have no corner of the ring you are fighting in.

you think it makes a difference.....Canadian or American... Norweigajn or Russian.. Chinese or japanese..

It's no longer those that do it right.. teach those that do it wrong..
now it those that do it wrong..only blame those that do it right.

Well I know 2 grandparents who r trying to get some God into her life, and one of her parents. She watches a lot of stupid things on tv, always playing games on laptop (tablet), or her phone. A lot of her little friends r the same way. With COVID, I spent a lot of time with her doing school work. New math was a wild ride. That is only going to get worse for me ! Ha, ha ! Thank God she is back in school ! At least the rule is here ... a snack, then homework, get changed. So she has some structure at least. But when the tv goes on, she is like her father ... tunes everything out

You think i write this because i care.. because i want to change things.?

I can't change things..It's happening and the narrow minded solutions you people have will do no good..

You want to blame, gun owners, republicans, religious people, Trump.. Like they can be changed but you don't have to.
I don't care what you do.....I just want you know what you are doing. And realize there is no difference. that the people you oppose are doing the exact same thing.

When believe it's just cynicism or that I am wrong.. you prove my point.. you can't change. that what you can't change. whether what think is right or wrong doesn't matter.. What's matter is you have to be either/or.

I don't have to be right.. I just have to be able to see things different than you.
there is no specific blame.. We are all human and it is our fate.

Get on with your life....as Tx would say "party on".. You think you need this.. you don't need it. Find the good, before it's gone. Teach the good before it becomes unteachable. this is the great junction of humanity.. when everything turns on itself.
