What to watch

I know my taste in things is probably quite different than some of you..

But being stuck in the house and spending an inordinate time watching TV..You would think it would get old.. But sometimes, you just can't turn it off.

This week i binge watched shows on Netflix.. I mean like hours straight and then the next morning and do it again. Until it's over.
Neither show inspired watch it. I thought it was probably going be really stupid.

One is a comedy.. I say comedy..but My God, it was so much more than that. I laughed I cried and couldn't wait see what was going happen next..
The Show is DEAD ON ME

The other one , I even thought, I was going like less. It's about , bullying, sex, being gay, drugs, and suicide.. It's like a crisis movie done ward off the evils of being a . Sounded terrible .. but my gosh, it was so much more than that..an emotional rollercoaster, of characters we all know. we all have seen and met. things we choose forget about people... ignore because some people are broken and can't see themselves. It's truly a journey of discovery..The thin line between things of sanity and insanity. It's called 13 Reasons....
And the realization that how we handle things. is just one event ahead.. of creating a f*cked up- .....That when unchecked become f*cked up adults. But most important NO One is immune. And the struggle never ends.

I know almost everybody will like Dead on Me.. But 13 REASONS, other one, is much more complicated.. But whether you are parent. a teenager....a social worker, a teacher.. a policemen, There is something for everybody to learn. If the story doesn't get you... then.. puzzle and the mystery will.

Check it out... If you dare?

I started season four.. but i have given up on it. It doesn't fit the first three seasons.
It's the fluff I thought the first three seasons were going to be. No way it can hold me.

I watched Dead to Me last year......I didn't find it convincing.....I fast-forwarded through the last 3 episodes to see if it got better, but it just collapsed in on itself.......They started out with a decent idea, but stretched it out beyond what the storyline could support.....

I can understand that you didn't like it because you were NOT CONVINCED..An interesting Choice of words.. You will immediately believe... with what I am about to say.. that you are wrong..to not be convinced...That is Not True.. you have every right not to be convinced .. you have every right to your own personal beliefs, your own likes and dislikes...
But when it comes to Dead on Me.....Words, meanings, and understandings.. when it comes to GOD, America, Men, and politics.. You got a hole in your head.. that can only be filled by being "CONVINCED".
it's SAD that you can't feel that which can't be explained...

You want to respond... please do so.. by telling me what you were not convinced of?... this not a judgment or a test.....there is no right or wrong.....What were you NOT CONVINCED OF?

It was so First World.....those women with every advantage possible had a boo-boo that lasted for one episode after another.......the writers fed the audience clues and the actresses acted out......their performance wasn't convincing....I'm so bored with these high-strung women in their perfect hair and makeup, wearing their designer clothes, even when we know they can't afford them....looking alike they came off the runway while they emote........their extreme emotions never mar their perfect turnout......and their homes are perfect and arranged by designers with shiny gee-gaws they never touch........The children are models....even when they have deep emotional problems. The son just magically gets over his deeply negative feelings by magic, it seems..........It's just more overly-shiny Americana........The script delivers a roller-coaster ride, but it's not convincing......it's a Disneyland experience......all bright and shiny with no grit or texture......say the words, contort the face in expressions listed from AtoZ in the American actors guide ..........I'm not convinced .......

So just for a point of my understanding .. you found IT to be too made up real.. or too made up fake? I don't dispute either view.
It why i call it a COMEDY...

But it was and it wasn't..

Maybe one of the greatest character studies on film.. when you take away the unreal and percieved real. You find a person in Christina Applegate's character.. That becomes a journey of discovery.. and eye opening, eye popping reality.. Her character salvages my view of fake reality and made up lives.
The irony for me.. is that she salvages YOU.. and the irony about You is you can't see it.

I don't how far you got into it..before you gave up on it..So i can only tell you what it meant to me..I am sure objectively we both has some prejudices towards it.. I know I did.. for example i didn't like the idea that it was a comedy "who dun it".. I didn't like the idea that it was about women, that seemed off the wall strange to me.. but the comedy of it held my interest.
I really like discovering things, especially thing i initially misinterpret.
Well.. Dead on Me.. was entirely a journey of discovery for me. I was constantly surprised as to how i misinterpreted each character. Especially Christina Applegate's character..I don't if you watched it long enough to find out her character had a mastectomy..(Christina Applegate in real life has had one). Interestingly as life events go we have all had our own "mastectomy"...Each character was revealed to be something we didn't initially realize. It unveiled my own assumptions and prejudices.
Someone could ask what it's about.. I could say a wife who's husband gets killed and she tries to find out what happened......
But if someone really wanted to know what it meant to me.. I would say the trials of a women who had a mastectomy..and with all it's unspoken negativity.. How she goes about her recovery.
