Testing: Managing or Mismanaging?

At a Tyson meat processing plant. A breakout of the virus caused a temporary shutdown..
The need to reopen the plant, required testing of personal, before reopening..
Mike Pence.. send this was a priority and tests would be sent..

The tests were acquired and supervisors and managers were tested first..To be followed up with line personal to be tested.
When the test results for supervisor were received.. Tyson cancelled the testing for All line personal.. The plant opened with testing personal for a fever.. then a subsequent virus test. If the the employee did not have a fever they were permitted to work.

This plant employs 6000 worker.. Their were 146 cases of workers testing positive, and two had died.

Would seem on the face of it.. to be not that big a deal as compared to some other meat processing plants. Last Friday the plant reopened.

This plant is a microcosm of our country as it stands today..
The idea as to whether or not the Federal Government testing is managing or mismanaging this virus.

What is Tyson position about his virus?....is the same as the Federal Government..
What happened?

Well, first almost ALL of confirmed case at this plant were from line workers.
The testing of supervisor and manager revealed that at least 40% tested POSITIVE.

The testing of All worker would have revealed at least 40% would test positive.
Of course, testing is not a cure, Testing doesn't change a thing.. if you already know what the results are going to be.
What testing would have done was to close the plant down...all those who tested positive would not be available to work. This alone closes the plant. instead they choose to only reduce the workforce. ONLY by those who have fevers.

Tyson is now on a campaign to show..what's happening in Food processing plants is breaking the supply chain for food. So to have one believe.... it's Food or Virus.
Both the Federal Government and Tyson are saying.. is it can't be BOTH.

The virus is the given... the economy is not. That food processing is more valuable than mitigating a NOW uncontrollable virus.
Testing doesn't solve anything it complicates things.
Testing is not only non-productive.. it's in itself is a drain on the economy.
Testing is closing the barn door..when the horses have already gotten out.

Maybe if you are a Republican and a Trump supporter.. you can believe I am making a good case for your position on reopening. Armed with a rational explanation instead of a irrational one.
But where hindsight should be 20/20...You folks are blinded.

Testing was never a solution... It was and always will be understood to be preventive.
To prevent people from being exposed to the virus.

Of course, preventive measures, like testing, needed to be taken in December of 2019.. Six months have passed.. The whole country has been EXPOSED.. So instead of testing, quarantining, and tracing....With.Fifteen people at the first of March...Instead we expected a miracle and it to disappear?
So now we got like 15 million people to test, quarantine and trace.
Social distancing and closures...were only designed to keep 300 million people quarantined from the virus.. instead of quarantining the virus from the people. it was a losing battle from day one.

I can talk about how history would have viewed Trump..The lies, the manipulations, the divisiveness, The alienation, the Russian influenced and the impeachment..As to what history will tell of Donald Trump..But no President of the United States has ever really lost a WAR...until Trump took on the Covid19. How he lost a War..That was impossible to lose.
Who was really the "INVISIBLE" ENEMY?

if you don't get it... Testing and mitigation are NOT in Trumps vocabulary.
He doesn't believe in such useless activities. If it can't GET IT DONE then Why do it?
It's in the "Art of the Deal".

It is incompetence of historic proportion Cricket. We may never get a vaccine. I hope we do, but it is not a given here. Trump is responsible for this mess and I fear that all the states are going to open the doors way too soon. I had some, measured, hope based on the reopening criteria they offered last week but it doesn't appear ANY state is going to hold to that recommendation. I don't think this is going to end well unfortunately.

First... by 2022 this virus will be a thing of the past..A vaccine will be developed.. or everyone susceptible that could die.. will have died.. and there will be herd immunity.. the virus will be gone one way or another.

This is the "perfect example" of what I always try to say.. It's not about the what, the end result.. but the how, how we deal with it.

How we deal with it.. determines the outcome.. after 2022.. it will be the only residual from the virus.. That will either sink US or elevate US..

In a perfect world.. we would know the right things to do.
In an imperfect world we would struggle to understand the true answer for the right things to do
But here's the rub.... that you fail to see.. In Trump's f*cked up world..The right thing becomes revealed .. just like in a perfect world.
