Leaf.. 2020 Democrats.. Things are changing fast.. Well Beto.. bit the bullet.. but Amy got the ammunition The Democrats will, will it.. A Klobuchar nomination.. I know you can't see it.. but i do ...There is too much established loyalty in the Democrat party now for each candidate..that will provide a negativity to the leaders.... As each Candidate withdraws... No established loyalty is going to get their vote, or they would have already been there. Those that are positive to each candidate has already been established...the negative is going to take over. There's nothing to talk about Klobuchar that's negative..And when it becomes time to talk .. it will be positive. That's what the undecideds and vanquished will see The only candidate who has no negatives, and has no loyalty to oppose..... is Klobuchar. |

I'll tell you how I see this thing....one HUGE new observation and this just happened. But first a summary. The voters remain in a holding pattern just like I said they were over a month ago. Nothing happens while impeachment is going on. Impeachment is proving VERY important to the people and the damage as you can see, and as I have been WARNING you about for months has been absolutely devastating. The Fed is doing everything they can to keep us from going over the edge...and we are almost there. It's going to be close. You better be hoping that Americans spend big this Christmas. I won't be. I hope I'm in the minority on that. Now...for the politics of it. I said from the beginning that Beto hired the wrong people. It's a shame because I was rooting for him. But his rollout was late and badly disorganized. I do think he'll figure all that out over the next two years and be better prepared to deliver an inspiring message for what concerns voters then. It's won't be immigration...climate change possibly. By the time the next campaign rolls around we'll be emerging from recession so big ideas will be hot and an inspiring and unifying message will resonate. We are not there now as a nation and thus Beto's problems. His message was a poor fit for reality...TODAY. That will change in 2 years. Amy is barely hanging on and her best chance is as a possible VP. It won't be a dynamic choice and I prefer star power, but that rarely happens. If Amy does well in the Iowa caucus the VP talk emerges. But the HUGE news is what Mayor Pete just said....suggesting that its a 2 person race between him and Warren. What a BRILLIANT political move that was! Man that was a SMART thing to float. It will be FASCINATING how the others react to that. It's a big new hole in Biden's boat and Bernie will obviously be ready to take advantage of a food fight. But will Warren take the bait? That is hard to tell. If she does, look for the big donors to start giving Joe real money and South Carolina completely rewrites the campaign. If she doesn't take the bait Mayor Pete just torpedoed the Biden and Sanders campaign. Does that open it up for Harris in South Carolina? It just might. Stay tuned...it is getting very interesting.

I think we see the country differently because of where we both live. I've been on the east coast for over 30 years now and spent 4 in Denver. The Mid-Atlantic region is all politics all the time so I grant you I view the dynamics differently. Virginia has an election on Tuesday and I'm betting that this will put the nail in the coffin for the GOP as Democrats take full control of the State Legislature. Big time changes are coming to health care, gun control, infrastructure and the minimum wage. Washington never ignores Virginia, we just don't let them. There's a reason Virginia has produced more Presidents than any other state. It's been frustrating for Virginia voters trying to push out these corrupt right wing stingy gun nut racist fascists. I'm hoping we finally get er done. Amy is competent yes, inspiring no. Boring yes, persuasive no. I could go on and on. America benefits with her in the senate. It's where she belongs and I'm fine with her staying there awhile. I wouldn't tap her for VP and I don't think anybody in the race will either but she could wiggle into the conversation. I'll listen to the arguments...and I'm listening to yours. I don't think you make your case however because I still feel that you are misreading the electorate. But I'll keep talking to you about it. It's true some people do not like Warren. This isn't the "inspiring" election as I've said. That comes next time. This is a fight between bulldogs. That is not going to change. Voters will settle for calm rational governance...but that comes later, AFTER the vote. This is what you just can't see. The only thing I can see that could possibly tame the coming fist fight is if the polls clearly show the gig is up for McConnell. I'm not convinced it is unfortunately. Kentucky's election Tuesday gives us a peek...and McConnell's bullshit over impeachment will tell us more still. Don't get me wrong...I don't want a perpetual political fight...but I do want an end to the one we're already in. There's still too much ass kicking that has to happen. This is not Gerald Ford's America Cricket. I would be the first to stand with you if I believed true bi-partisan governance for the good of the country could emerge. Just not going to happen. Warren will advance the debate far better than anybody else. That's why she's the best pick AT THIS TIME. Her presidency will shape the future of the country. A Trump reelection won't do that but it will accelerate the nation's decline and make things far more expensive and difficult to clean up. The legacy of lies will leave a terrible mess behind as our generation passes away. That 'reality' is why this election and the ensuing governance is going to be fight. Amy is not going to lead that with a yellow legal pad and a pencil. As for everyone else....Booker has proven that this isn't the inspiring race. If that message doesn't resonate, and it hasn't, no inspiring message will. Biden does know how to fight, so you can't rule him out. However, he does indeed struggle to communicate in the present 'reality'. That might be the unforgivable sin this time around. The thing about Mayor Pete, and his brilliant political play this week...is that the play does nothing for him in the end. It's not going to happen. I think he needs to complete his term, pack his bags and move...possibly to Georgia and run for Governor somewhere. He has to get out of Indiana. He needs to relocate to a purple or leaning purple state. That's what cements his political future...otherwise he lives a quiet life and becomes a trivia question on how to spell and pronounce his name. The nation will move on without him. But I respect the guy a lot. Bernie...I'm so done with him now but he just won't go away. His campaign is exactly why I hate caucus states. He has served his purpose. If there was one big surprise in this campaign I couldn't even entertain as a possibility it was the meteoric rise and fall of Harris.
