Democrats at the Crossroads

The Democratic party is at the crossroads...not in regards to 2020 elections..They will win that.. But what will that win mean..

I have a real problem with the Democratic party.. Getting out the black vote.. If the 2020 election is about getting out the Black vote nothing will change. .....We are not there yet.. but the goal needs to be .. there is no such thing as a "Black Vote"

I would have a problem with the Democratic Party.. putting a face on getting rid of Trump.. and then making that person President.

I have a problem with the Democrats...returning US to Pre-Trump.. like that alone is going to Make America Great Again.

I would have a problem with the Democrats. Thinking this next election is an ideological Mandate.. That what they complain about Republicans..that they do it in turn. I would hope Democrats don't fight fire with fire.. instead "carry the water" to dose it out.

I would hope that Democrats don't point the finger... when bad repercussion happen because of the Trump Presidency.. I hope Democrats tear down WALLS and build bridges.

I would hope Democrats don't allow OUR Problems to define Us.. because we are too busy fixing them..That people can live their day to day life ..in trust...of government FOR THE PEOPLE and BY THE PEOPLE.. In Trust that the American watchdog.. is everywhere...every institution, every federal, State and local government office, and every official. That every Citizen is a watchdog to protect what they hold dear..That there is something GREATER in the American individual...other than greed, wealth and power.
That there would be no room for conspiracy and corruption to hide.

This is something I honestly believe.. Doing the crime is not about doing the time, about getting caught and punishment.. Doing the crime.. the greater punishment is always self-inflicted..ALWAYS...It may take days, weeks, months or years..but there will be no punishment..like that which is self-inflicted. ...The Reckoning.... Believe Me... Nobody "gets away" with anything

People can hide from it...
people can shut their eyes
People can convince themselves ..lies are truth
People can justify just about anything.

But people can't justify, shut their eyes, convince themselves, or hide.. for long
From the Mirror....

So glad you started a thread on this. We'll see what others might like to say, but it definitely deserves a read. In my view this represents a political utopia. That's what is so hard ...getting people to a mirror with an open heart and an open mind.

Yes, I admit my frustration that so many Americans are simply not here. It's not that I mind waiting on them. I have long ago opened the door to hearts and minds. It is concerning they are not following. James Comey on Monday made that very point. We have a damaged populace Cricket. I think millions of citizens know this already. Nobody should underestimate the damage we've done to ourselves (Fox News Propaganda, Conservative Talk Radio, Christian Coalition, the Israeli lobby and the NRA). All of those entities are responsible for the vulnerability that made it possible for the Russians to go in for the kill. What a job they did. So now in order to achieve what you so correctly outline should be the goal presents perhaps the biggest challenge for America since WWII. You're right...it doesn't end in 2020. So how do we get there, who among us will be able to be the uniting messenger? Who among us must pay the price of cleansing so that we can heal? I'm not sure I'll see that in my lifetime. We've reached the point of stealing babies on the border and then living in denial that it even happened. It's a really long and arduous road ahead....and patience will be needed when there isn't a lot of it left.

Thanks again for a great read. It all starts when someone looks in the mirror...and it is clear that you have.

I doubt.. especially old people, can look in the mirror with pride and say ..."look what I have become.. It's just not human nature..

But there is a irony to it.,. As long as the punishment is not too severe, as long as depression doesn't fill the reflection....
What one can find is not a reflection of a negativity.. In our mistakes. we can find our children's salvation
The hope Our children and their Children.. can be BETTER than US... Not how our accomplishments have done it... but our mistakes have paved their way..It's the meaning of God......It's the meaning of humanity...and it's meaning of life..

I was thinking today of the idea of "equality" Certainly all men aren't created equality?
OR are they?

That is the rub... The inequality and not the equality. The idea of inequality ,, and how we go about correcting it. only makes it more unequal..... Do we make the poor equal by giving them money.. do we make the loser equal by giving everybody a trophy. Do we the make the oppressed equal by punishing the oppressor?.. When It's impossible to MAKE IT equal..
It's not based or your opinion or my opinion of what is equal... each individual makes the choice of their own equality... The problem is the perception of equality is based on what each individual DOESN'T HAVE ...instead of the equality that based on what you do have
The idea is that the "haves" can not be equal...BUT what the "have nots" have..The "haves" do not.. So I believe it all balances out.
The "haves" and the halves are equal.. even if they are different.
You got to realize what you GOT... to become equal.. not what you don't have.

The narrow view of the meaning of words.. and how everything becomes relative.
In terms of good and bad and right and wrong....When the perception is not the reality.....Things like smart and stupid, poor and wealthy, give and take, Liberal and Conservative, Black and White, equal and unequal... These things don't change a damn thing in a person's life
The best example is poor and wealthy.. because for most of us, it's the easiest to measure.. with the narrow view of the words...they becomes the most relative..We can measure who is poor and who is wealthy by what they have, and how much MONEY.
With an expanded view of "poor" and "wealthy".. One can find the "wealthy" to be poor and the "poor" to be wealthy.

We see the differences in the challenges people face. Those things that become our challenge....We measure those things and those things become relative as to equality.. But it's not....We measure the things.. instead of the challenge..
You can believe me or not ...but NOBODY avoids the CHALLENGE of LIFE.. The reality is the Challenges of the poor are EQUAL to the Challenges of the wealthy.. Even though the "things" are different.. The "challenge" of a paper cut on the tip your finger... is equal to the "challenge" of a broken finger.

Why is it........ a true REALITY..? that the "wealthy" can be poor.. and the "poor" can be wealthy.....when you can believe in what you GOT, instead of what you don't have.. We all become equal

How the "American" narrow definition of wealthy and poor means
squat-didley...and why... we are all equal

That suicide doesn't conform to being to be rich or poor? but for the most part the opposite
That being fat or skinny.. when it should... doesn't conform to being rich or poor.. In fact.. for the most part... it's opposite of a "narrow" view?
Why is it.. that love and friendship.. In truth, can not be measured by being wealthy or poor?
Why is it faith and hope is a gift...only given to the "poor"
Why is it. that wanting for nothing . always leaves a person wanting?
Why is it.. that one cannot measure happiness by being wealthy or poor.?

Is it too hard to imagine.. That the wealth you want, won't change a thing.. but always be a disappointment....When the wealth you have... is all you need.

so let me ask you... who are the wealthy and who are the poor?

For me...the Book of Job answers your question far better than I ever could. It's a really important read, and I would argue that Job and the Book of James together answer your question so completely that you will never experience want again.

It's rare that I've been confronted with a question like this...where the answer is so apparent. If you are really looking for that answer...follow the recommendation. If you're looking for alternatives...there are plenty of wanderers that can respond.

Call it a Christmas Present...from a friend.

Is it too hard to imagine.. That the wealth you want, won't change a thing.. but always be a disappointment....When people achieve wealth and never accept or admit it's a disappointment....They Ignore it..and just go on chasing their "tale"..

I don't intend to dismiss "want"....Want is important.. but it's simply not the where all,end all..

A long time ago .. I thought of a saying ..to answers it all.

If you can't appreciate what you have....You can NEVER appreciate what you want..

Because if you achieve what you want. It will become what you have.

We confuse the goal with the "achievement"....when the achievement becomes paramount to the goal...The goal becomes hollow....So getting what you want is NEVER as important as having what you want..
Winning is Never as important as what you win.. (Could someone please inform Trump and his supporters of that!)

Wanting can be good.. but then again..... it can be bad also..

You are far more religious than I.. that is not a slight..having SOME faith is not a slight.
The conclusions are the same.. It's in that truth.. why faith works... how some people get there... is just different
It's just me..faith is great.. but I got to break it down...to make it My truth..

I say that to you and then think....Some of these pseudo-religious hypocritical nutso's... amaze me
