Let it go

Your truth must set you free
Locked in the chamber of a gun
A casing of righteousness
A point of honor
hard as blue steel
With no other place to go
Your truth can blow your mind
Just pull the trigger

A soul in darkness does flee
from itself and not from me.
If only sunlight could illuminate
A dark soul and a dreary fate
I bask in sunlight, spirit free
And try so hard not to pity thee.

I, Oh so want to believe
In Mermaids of the sea,
In God, In hope and love,
And all that can be

When Life becomes too painful
It ebbs the tide of dreams
Then mermaids vanish from the sea
It's the greater loss, so it seems

The challenge is not asking "why"
you get, what you got
But not having life's pain deny
the challenge of "WHY NOT?"
