The Divide in America.

I just read a great article on the divide in America.

A few point and conclusions. I came up with

First political lines in this country have historically been divided by income. That's no longer the case.

Ideology which many of us feels is important, is no longer of primary importance..

Income is still important but not in the same way as in the past. Rural income, Suburban income and City income all present different issues. City income is the commerce, and the growth, and the power.
Surburban income is being held by a thread.
Rural income, is just the step sister, waiting for Cinderella, before midnight strikes

Rural income and the lack of power turns to community, family, and church. The other area simply go about their individualistic way. Individual given their particular circumstance, identify with certain ideology, not as a group but as individuals, As individuals they want to be heard about their particular concerns, not everybody else's.

But it's the rural communities that are screaming what about us!, what's to become of us, as they simply whittle away. Sons and having to move to cities for work, conglomerates taking over farms and businesses, small towns falling apart and disappearing. Communities that created stability destroyed.

They are the ones that wants to make America great again. They are ones that don't just want change, but need change, they are the ones that row the same boat.

Although Trumps is not answer for rural America. Rural America at least is getting some answer, even if it's the wrong answer..

Does anyone here think that Trump has a primary concern for rural America. Or is he a city boy and believes city income trickles down to rural communities and suburbia.?

That if his economic plan works, to the benefit of all and not just the rich. He will gain democrat support and lose a lot of his Republican support, especially in rural areas.. So much so, in fact, that he might have to run for re election as an independent.

That the whole map of ideology is going to change.

No-one knows much about what a Trump presidency will be like. Most of his campaign was just a bunch of insults and lies, but he made a few vague campaign promises about making America great again. Unfortunately those promises kept changing from day to day and depending on who he was talking to.

Now his new Cabinet is mainly a bunch of billionaires who are supposed to care about the little guy and change the same system that enabled them to make and hold on to all their billions??

Amazing!

boogie you have managed to include a couple of Katie descriptive analysis in one paragraph.

So in breaking it down to communicated. I get only one response that is...

" Rural America is alive, doing well and thriving"

I disagree with that.

Hi Cricket...no, Trump could care less about rural America. This is not the nation anymore. Heck, they are testing pizza delivery to rural America by drone...nobody is planning corporate expansion in rural America unless there's a fracking opportunity. Rural America will be significantly worse off in 4 years. Trump knows it, everyone knows it. Heck, they even resist doing something about the toxic health hazard of pig odor. How stupid is that?
Frustrated people do stupid things.

so you think you're frustrated.....Look around.

Look at rural America. You wrote a blog about rural America and your frustration with them.

what you didn't see was their frustration with US.

Where you got the wherewithal, to be diverse, to see different sides, and make choices, you get to see the potential of things, to make overall things better. you try to change Washington

Rural America doesn't have that luxury. All they have is family, community and Church, that use to be enough. Washington didn't matter. But they now they see Washington being pulled apart to different side and they are being left out,. As other blame Washington for their plight, rural America is jumping on their own bandwagon. If Washington is expected to fix the ills of the poor, middle class, and rich...What about them?

It's their way of life that's being changed, they percieve an attack on their community, family, and church.

Your frustration is to make things better.
Their frustration is survival.

Here's the way I see rural America and where they coming from.

rural America doesn't live in the stone age, No one can anymore. They are bombarded with stuff from other folks, that don't mean any thing to them.

Leaf your idea on guns, doesn't mean squat to rural America, the right and wrong of it.. Other than fact they own guns, and they perceive you want to take them away. Like your taking everything else away.

|They see the idea on planned parenthood, school prayer, gay rights rights, keeping religion out of government. Not as something and individual should choose, but an attack on their church.

They see the economy and the discussion about jobs, about income inequality, about city life, wall street, and about people just getting more money.
As not a decision about them, All they see is their family grocery store closing down, family businesses shutting down, their community in peril.
Their family being torn apart as members must leave their community to get work. they see their way of life being torn apart, and no ones talking about them.

All they see is their family and community and religion being attacked.
That perception may not be correct as to the cause, but they don't care about the cause. The cause doesn't matter.

Hi Boogie. Oh please, rural America is not thriving. Who do you think you're talking to? LOL Why not zero in on Kansas run by Sam Brownback? Rural America is racist, often poor, lacks infrastructure, has poor schools and is losing population so fast they are offering to pay people to move there and stay. Rural America will continue to decline for the foreseeable future. Once you get out of Greyhound Bus terminal you cannot find a hot dog anywhere.
here's what I think, rural America may be the least racist segment of our society.
Why do I do think that, you ask.

Because rural America actually thinks about it the least.
Your reaction, is an assumption according to their vote is just stupid, not all trump voters are racist, Rural America's racial motivation is certainly not greater than the rest of America.. it fact it has to be overall less. They don't care about a police shooting of a black in Chicago, or how many black are incarcerated.

But you see again, the idea that the talk about racism and the action the follow to cure racism, bring to light to them, that more deserving people like themselves are being left out.

Again it's all the things,
America is doing, that they don't care about, and what America is NOT doing about what they do care about.
