WHO'S TO BLAME

Quoting Maisie2013:
"Ok, one more time- what I meant was the election of a President is, many times, the reaction to the previous one. Obama said no more war, Bush gave us a war. Obama said he would bring back prosperity- the economy had just crashed and Bush got blamed.

My side note on the public's short memory, was that thru most of the Bush years, despite 9/11, we had relative prosperity. The 2008 crash had little to do with Bush, except his inability to get Congress to rein in Fanny and Freddy, and to quit demanding banks lend to those who were not credit worthy.

I could write pages about how we got to the 2008 crash, but , trust me, Bush had little to nothing to do with it.

The seeds of destruction were sown under two Democrats- Carter and Clinton. Carter with the Community Reinvestment Act and Clinton with the repeal of Glass/Steagell. '

*************

When the economy crashed who where we to blame?

Today I have job, in 2008 I was unemployed and couldn't find work...who am I to blame?

in 2008 I was in debt up to my eyeballs, today I am not ...who am I to blame?

in July of 2008 the average gas price was 3.67 gal today I paid 2.07/gal (Costco) who am I to blame?
in 2008 a gallon of milk cost 3.69 today I paid 2.89 who am I to blame?
In 2008 a loaf of wonder bread was 2.69 today I paid 2.29...who am I to blame?

In 2008, we were spending trillions of dollars for wars in Iraq and Afganistan....who am I to blame for that?

In 2008, corporations were screwing me right and left..who am I to blame for that?

in 2008 I was told the war in Iraq....was based on "bad" information
who am I to blame for that?

In 2008 I had no health insurance, today I have health insurance.. Who am I to blame for that?

Tell me maisie...WHO'S TO BLAME?

I KNOW OBAMA AND THE LIBERALS ARE TO BLAME.......?

This recession has dragged on way longer than it should, thanks to Obama meddling. He said he was going to make sure that there were no more big ups and downs in the economy. He has made sure of it- creating a sustained down.

maisie.

Missed the point of the whole thing, your statement above is wrong. it's beyond wrong, it's a lie. I don't need facts and figures to know it's wrong. The price of gasoline somehow became, the only issue of what makes it right or wrong, I'm not that stupid and neither should you be. Ironically, I didn't make it up, the example is true, You can try and say it isn't but, those of us who live it, know you're wrong.
You live in fantasyland, thinking people will just believe what you say about Obama. You probably won't live long enough to realize how foolish you will look in the history books.
You may not feel you have anything to blame Bush about. But then again what have you to blame Obama about? Nothing is the answer. You have nothing that's changed.
I have stuff to blame GW Bush. Stuff that happened to me, what happened to you in the last seven years?
The fact I paid $2.07/gal for gas in 2015 is the point about gas, the only thing you're right about is in 2008 whatever it exactly was doesn't mean squat.
The point of the entire blog is that your above statement is wrong.

I have said before, whatever you say has no meaning to me. You can't get to me because you don't exist.
That being said....my plan for you is to use you, Use you to show those that agree with you. how stupid they are.
The statement you made is untrue
You may not know it, because you don't know anything.

I get angry at the lies...not to be in support of Obama, but to be against the lies.
I wish I wasn't right, I don't if what I do is right, I just know I'm not wrong!
confusing isn't it?

Here's what I thought in 2010.

Obama, had put a band aid on a gaping wound.

In five years, we would have to pay the piper. Inflation, recession were again just around the corner.

Well the five years is up. I was wrong.

So what do I think today,

In five years we are going to have a long period of inflation and recession. Nothing has changed for me to say that.
It won't matter who's in office. Democrat, Republican won't matter.
The Republicans wont be able to steal our way out of it, and the Democrats won't be able to spend our way out it.
More so today, than 5 years ago, I think it will happen.
Obviously today there is no working together to tighten the beltstraps
the liberal for social programs spending and the conservative for military and profit taking. The conservative selling the idea that the rich getting richer is the way to prosperity.doesn't tighten the beltstraps, except by those that can least afford it.
So we have no concerted effort by both parties to change it, and without that kind of effort it wont be changed.

We now live in a bottom trickle up economy...dry up the bottom, without the government spending, and the economy is going to fall apart. The Trickle down economy has one big problem....it never makes it down.
So my solution, may not work, but it's the only one I got... It's called bottoms up! Cheers!

So what candidate should you vote for?

Well I'd vote for the one that says this........

"The rich got to pay because they afford it, Many of the poor have to take responsibility for themselves
We are a country in debt, no matter what any of the other candidate say, you have but two choices....To pay it back on the installment plan or wait to pay it all back with a balloon payment
I think we're better off with the installment plan, that's my position. I figure some of you won't like it, but to me that's better than someday all of you not liking it."

*******

The problem of course is we have no candidate like this, what we have is party politics and I'm not invited to the party!

Alright, gotten it all off my chest.....there it is!

    Source; CNN Money

2008: A volatile year for gas
Prices at the pump have been on a rollercoaster in 2008. Soaring prices curtailed travel this summer, and Americans waited months for a reprieve. They cut back spending in order to fill their gas tanks.

When the price reached the record-high $4.114 a gallon set on July 17, gas prices had risen already 35% year-over-year.

Gas prices finally began to sink on Aug. 21, as the dollar strengthened and oil prices saw their biggest drop in 17 years.

Late August brought Hurricane Gustav threatening infrastructure in the Gulf of Mexico. The storm shut down nearly all crude oil production and 82% of natural gas production in the Gulf region. Soon after, Hurricane Ike loomed over Texas and gas prices shot up in September, reaching more than $5 per gallon in some parts of the country during the early part of the month.

On Sept. 16, gas prices started declined as crude prices began trending lower amid weakening demand.

Meanhwile, the global economic slowdown continued to churn. The government's $700 billion Wall Street bailout plan punished the dollar, and on Sept. 21, oil prices posted their biggest one-day dollar gain.

Gas prices, meanhile, have continued to sink sharply, plunging 55% from the record-high in mid-July. Oil traders fear the global economic slowdown will continue to quash demand for fuel.

The AAA figures, compiled by Oil Price Information Services, are state-wide averages based on credit card swipes at up to 100,000 service stations across the nation."

Those that herald the low gas prices for a given period of a volatile year are merely playing games with the facts. Coupled with the volatility of oil prices in the year 2008 was the deregulation of oil drilling safety standards (thank you Geo W Bush) that led to one of the largest oil disasters in our country's history. And that is the fact of the matter.
thank you for your comment..

I'd like to explain the problem I have with it and the main problem I have with the things you say. Of course some of the nastiness I have a problem with, but that aside for a second...
Look, they pull facts out of their azz, say it means something, anyone with half a brain would know it doesn't mean. Sometimes you do the exact same thing!
You challenged their facts, they stick to their half truth, and the argument is over the facts. the facts aren't the point. You give credence to their facts by challenging them, and the point gets lost.
The argument is never about the facts. It's about what they try to make those facts mean.
What you have written is the truth, it support what I said about gas prices...but my problem is I was never talking of gas prices. that's what they wanted to make it about, but that's not the point of what I was talking about.
It what's they do, change the focus. make it about grammar, personality, and facts that don't mean anything but what they want them to mean. They search out the weakest sheep in the herd, and try to pounce on it
My problem with you is, you don't know it, but you help them do it.

So in your world facts count for nothing and opinion reigns supreme? How remarkable!
facts do count

but interpreting what the fact mean counts more.
go ahead and argue the gas prices of 2008...I think you're right
but the gas prices of 2008 is not the point of my blog
You making it the point is what I take exception to.
Winning that point makes no difference.

So be it...Don't tell how bad I got it, Don't tell me what Conservatives would have done with gas prices, Don't tell about pipelines and the effect on gas prices... Who do they think they're kidding. That's my point

Now, now, Jiminy you say that nastiness offends you and then you turn into not only a nasty bastard but an ignorant oaf as well. Think about it Jiminy. You contend to be a tower of philosophical importance. What has the US been doing to handle its debt since before your birth? Think Jiminy, think!

You reveal to all of us that you need to think about going into rehab.
Omg,

You won't answer the question...Why.....you want me to figure it out.

There's a lot of other things we can do to get rid of the debt. My position about that is more philosophical than actual. I don't say what we do, I say the government both conservative and liberal, need to do it together, some of both will need to get hurt. That my point..What's yours?

I believe your position is also philosophical more than actual. Whether you think so or not.

But I don't know what that is, So I need you to tell me.

Avoid it, if you choose, because that's what you do. You avoid it , not because you don't believe it...because it reveals too much about you.

okay,

I guess I need to play your game first...

Alright lets see....

Print money
sell off assets.
Take assets from other countries.
increase taxes
inflate the dollar
go to war
sell saving bonds
increase the GNP
export instead of import
bribery
pretend it doesn't exist
collect from their debtors
Tell creditors to go to hell

Oh shit I give up.....could you tell me please.
