Dedication About seven or eight years ago, I got into a discussion about unconditional love, about getting and giving love. .My side of the discussion was that love, once realized, was always unconditional. That love was only measured by our giving and never by our getting. That there was only conditions to fall out of love and not into it. Red and LadyNads had a different point of view. I thought it was rather silly to put conditions on those we could choose to love, and to protect ourselves by making what we get in return the determining factor to our giving. Anyway, it inspired a poem, which I dedicate to LadyN and Red. It's my second favorite, and was also worth my memorization...... ***** *********************** TIN LOVE *********************** I NEVER KNEW LOVE HAD A GENDER TIL WOMEN MADE IT SO THAT LOVE ISN'T JUST THE SENDER IT'S ABOUT WHAT WOMEN KNOW ***** IF ONLY MEN HAD A HEART INSTEAD OF A LOVE TOKEN THEN WOMEN WOULDN'T PAY THE TOLL AND THE CYCLE WOULD BE BROKEN ***** THE TIN MAN HE HAS SPOKEN... "I HAVE NO HEART IN HERE THE CYCLE NEEEDN'T BE BROKEN JUST PEDAL FASTER DEAR" ***** "GO FIND YOURSELF A CLOCK AND TIME NOT TO CARE BUT LISTEN FOR THE TICK TOCK AND A TIN MAN'S HEART YOU'LL HEAR". ************* |
