An American Tragedy

It's tragic how some things evolve.

I can't seems to forget the problems that every American had before social security. Not just the elderly, who social security helped, but the families of the elderly who's burden in taking care of their parents and grandparent was substantial, yet it was bonded in love and responsibility.
With the advent of Social Security, how grateful they must have felt. How grateful the parents and grandparents must have felt to have the burden lessened on their .
Somewhere along the line we lost our love, and somewhere along the line we lost our responsibility. But the most important thing we lost was being grateful. That is the tragedy.

I wrote this in response to a blog, wanted to save it and share it with everyone.

lovrby,

It's a true irony about Social Security

The one's that are the most grateful, are the one's that are willing to share.

Yet, those that would not share, are the one's that have convinced themselves that it was earned and paid for.

I dream that those that believe Social Security is earned and paid for, would have their entitlement limited to only that which they have paid. I know that if they elect those that agree with the tea party ideology, then my dream would come true and they would get a rude awakening.

PS: Okay, Okay... if your rich, then It won't bother you. But you know what....If your rich you can't take a political piss without someone holding it for you. So I only mean, those that will end up holding the bag.

Robyn,

Thank you, good to see you, good to hear from you. You know, I've got to think that everything I say must come from my Irish soul, My Scottish high, and my Italian sauciness! But in life, you know, there's always a trade off....Wearing a kilt all the time, eating spaghetti all the time, and taking shots of Jameson all the time can be trying....
Well, the Jameson not so bad...I think I go have another.

Before Social Security seniors contributed to the well being of the nation by working.

Now that they get government handouts they go on casino tours, wasting money on 'gaming'. money that would be much better spent freeing the women of Afghanistan.
