Obama/Hitler The other day a Arizona representative, Brenda Barton, compared Obama to Hitler. it seems it's happening a lot from the Tea Party. The comparison is laughable, but the people who are making that comparison are not. They scare the beejeebees out of me. The reason is they are more like the Nazi Party than any other political organization this country has known. We assume that all the Germans, who allowed the Nazi Party to come to power, were nuts. Well news flash, they acted nutty but weren't nuts. For the most part they were decent, patriotic German citizens that bought into propaganda. They were sold that their current government was selling them down the river. They were sold that Jews were responsible for the down-turned economy, unemployment, that they controlled the money and spending of the country. They were convinced by lies and half truths that they deserved better, that the Nazi Party would give back Germany to the Germans. All of this was orchestrated by Hitler, and his propaganda machine. The people did not choose to hear the dissenters, they did not choose to see the truth. In regards to ideology the Republican may not be the same as the Nazi party, but as to methodology they are exactly the same. ******* |

Angel, Your buying into the propaganda. The president is not shutting down the program. To get these people their rights, he just worked around the program the Republicans already shutdown. Granted it should have been handled better, but a lot of things should be handled better in Washington. To point fingers at Obama about this is ridiculous propaganda. it allow people like you to come up with possibilities of his intentions that simply aren't true. Much like the German people the only ones that believe it are the ones that want to believe it. How can you not see that the Republican bringing up an issue that is no longer an issue, isn't their propaganda. It's like they set the fire to complain that the fire department can't put it out fast enough. All you have to do to understand is listen to them prior to the shutdown. Saying that they are willing to shutdown the government to defund Obamacare and then listen to them now as to who is responsible for the shutdown.

Politics and citizenship aren't as simple as people believe. Just because one believes that Obamacare is bad, or abortion is bad, or entitlement programs are bad. Doesn't remove their responsibility to prevent their representatives from acting irresponsibly to achieve their ends. One must guard against their representative using the platform to achieve goals that the agreement hasn't been agreed to. People such a those on Medicare and Social Security should be leery of their representative who's ultimate agenda not only includes that which they may agree but also that which would be un-agreeable.

Leaf I totally disagree that the voter thing is racially motivated. Especially the thinking that the racial motivated thing has to do with black people. Granted The republicans accept those bigoted racist into their fold. But then again they accept anybody who will agree with them, who they can manipulate. Those really in control don't care what the color of a person skin is. They only care who's they can manipulate and who's going to vote with them or not. The racial thing you speak is putting the cart before the donkey. The fact is that blacks are not the enemy, but democrats are the enemy. It's just that more blacks are democrats than not. They hate the donkey more than the cart.

ET. Thanks for reading me, I know it's hard to go against people you respect and like, but sometimes it's necessary and sometimes it doesn't matter what they think about us. As long as it gets them to think. Sometime it's in our failure to have stepped on toes, that allows people to walk all over us.

Skariff, It amazes me that people judge someone more by the look of man, than how a man looks at things. You are obviously intelligent, thoughtful, and giving. Yet those here that would deny this are as shallow as "Hal" (Hell) I must give you credit for not falling into their trap, and falling down to their level.

Leaf, It's... the cart before the horse. It's... if the glove fits, you can't acquit! Hell yes, voter suppression and gerrymandering are all ploys and all ploys that result in the separation of black and white. I'm just saying there's a lot more to it than race. I don't believe a racial exploitive act should be call racist unless the intent is singularly racial. If not, it becomes awful difficult to separate the exploitation of black people, from the exploitation of people in general. If the goal of the republican party was to disenfranchise people of color then it would be racist. Maybe it is, but I'm not willing to accept that as the primary goal, at this time. However I wouldn't put it past them. If the glove doesn't fits.....you have to acquit....at least at this point.

myseek, It's one of the tenants to either silence or drown out the sanity! leaf is certainly right about one thing....It is the racists type of thinking.......the hate, the elitism, the justification, of the republican party that allows them to do today, What the people of tomorrow will find repulsive. Those people that support their hate will hide under the blankets when that day comes. They will out judas, Judas. They will say it wasn't their fault, when it fact it will have been all their fault. For these liars, destroyers and haters could not exist without their support.

Roxy, I believe the 2000 election was the start of the overt party animosity. It has grown since that time. Although, I must admit the reaction to that election and the subsequent term of George Bush got the ball started by the Democrats. The backlash of that from the Republicans has been the fuel to the fire that has escalated it to current situation. They saw the damage it, and G. Bush did to the perception of party and have ever since been trying to inflict the same damage on the Democrats, with and without reason, by any means possible.

poet, I know I'm stirring the pot, but I can't let it boil over. Throughout my life I have been able to put up with a lot, and usually the subject matter of these type of things don't really matter to me. What I have never been able to put up with is the insult to my intelligence.
