What To Do

It's really hard when you lose touch with your and begin to wonder why. It's especially hard on a divorced father. This poem was written for that reason, but can apply in many other circumstances.

It seems I just don't know

what to say, what to do

Not knowing which way to go

when it comes to loving you
.....

It's no longer up to me

to say what's best for you

but show you my heart to see

Is the only thing I can do
.....

I find myself not moving

just standing here still

wondering what your doing

Not knowing what you will
.....

I'm tired of this mind field

not knowing what to do

Just say it, so I may yield

To do what's best for you
.....

I agree Jiminy. It's so difficult to stay in touch with our kids these days and in separations & divorces, even more.

Lovely poem Jiminy, sometimes its hard to know what to say even when you see them every day. They seem to live their own lives. Maybe if you make a move!!

From a child of divorce - the kids find it just as hard to related to the absent parent and often, in situations like mine where I saw both parents equally but separately, hard to relate to the parent that is present.

Just stay in touch what ever way you can and wait it our. Sooner or later, usually when they are parents themselves, they will be interested in family.

wishes,

Thank you for reading me.

Great to see again, late is better than never, because never is always too late!

Hope things are going well for you, and even if you no longer write poetry, you still live poetically.
