I can program a computer yet I can't understand chat rooms - Why? I was reading unduplic..... blog about a chat room incident and it reminded me to ask for help. I have often thought of going to the Trivia on Sunday night but anytime I go look at the chat room it is just a blaze of lines and words flashing down. I have no idea what is going on and who is talking to whom. Is there a "Chat Rooms for Dummies". Mc P.S. I can also program my TV and my DVD recorder so I must be very smart, right? |

If you go in a chat room, start by talking to just one person. Tell them you are new. When you get comfortable you can try talking to another. Before you know it, you are talking to most of them.

HI mclooking.....be sure you type the handle of the person you want to speak to so they know you are talking to them and watch for your's as you will see them answering you that way....and note what color their font is or if you are in flash chat you can highlight them and be aware of them chatting....when you enter & say I am new at this and other will guide you and learn the short hand will help......NP = no problen..TC=take care TY=Thank you YVW=you'er very welcome..HB..hurry back you will catch one......keep trying it is FUN...when you get the hang of it..TTFN....ta ta for now....RED Some believe in destiny, some believe in fate. Hiya mclooking, I would suggest that you start by going into a room that doesn't have a huge number of folks in it.....probably less than 20 to start. Follow the above hints as well. Try reading from the bottom of the screen up. Relax!!! Exhale!!! We all started the same way you are beginning--lolol. It really does get easier!!! Welcome to the chatrooms!

MC I can't program a computer but I can join into chat and understand whats going on. You see its simply how ones own mind is programmed to do things. Some people go from A to B and then have to think about it. Others have minds that can go from A to B to C to D and then think about it. Then again others have minds that go from A to Z and back and don't have to even think about it. This is why all people are different. Yup we are UNIQUE breed of people. I have seen many people come into chat and stay only a short time and say it was too much for them and then leave. I'm looking to the future and it's out of sight, only in the end shall I take flight.
