Swan Lake Update Top left; bottom left; top right all in the Phoenix Park Middle right & bottom right ; in Blackrock Park I wasn't feeling too well after a late night Friday with several of my work mates so Billy went to the Phoenix Park alone and took these pictures. The swans came straight to him when he got to the pond and they ravenously devoured best part of a whole sliced pan. The ducks got a wee bit too. Although the cygnets are growing noticeably in size from week to week there is still precious little white to be seen on their bodies which are still pretty much grey in colour while those in Blackrock Park seem to turning brown. I include some pictures of the other swan family that Billy has been following in Blackrock Park, about 6 miles from our house. He sees them whenever he goes to pick shellfish as he did on Saturday last. |

Thank you Denver, I made an error while preparing the blog and it originally posted without picture or text. I think everything has been straightened out now.

I had to go to the your blog to see the pictures. They are so pretty! It surprises me how long it takes to change to all white. I didn't know that.

Hi Maudie, The swans (babies) are sure getting big. I havent been down to Blackrock Park for a long time. I must take the kids down to the playground and then we can see the swans as well. Thanks for the update Maudie. Leah is here with me and is very interested in your pictures.

Maudie Thank you for posting these pictures. We have no swans in our immediate area so I have been enjoying your postings.

Hi Maudie: I wonder if the babies leave their parents after they turn white, or maybe they all continue to stay together?? I usually only see two white swans together at a time here. The feathers on the babies look like there is some white marbelled in with the grey now.
