Swan Lake Latest Update

We went to the Phoenix Park on Sunday and the swans were looking for bread but once again we hadn't brought any because it was well into the afternoon and we expected they'd already have been well sated. [post 109342]

While we were standing on the bank we saw a guy approaching downhill on a bike and running in front of the bicycle was a rat, it looked like it was going to jump into the pond before doing a sharp right turn into the bushes. Other than that everything was as normal as could be expected. [post 109341]

The cygnets have grown ever bigger and the signs of whiteness are appearing more prominently. It wont be much longer until their wings are fully formed. [post 109339]

It's amazing how rapidly those cygnets have grown....I look forward to hopefully seeing a shot of them when they get their full white plumage. They sure are beautiful birds. Thanks to you and Billy for the update......Mike.....aka GB

We are enjoying watching the cygnets grow. Soon they will be white and as beautiful as their parents.

a rat running for his life must have been funny to see. that would have made a great shot!
just look at those babies... it surely won't be long now..

Hiya Maudie, I truly enjoyed the story of the swans from eggs to teenagers, and its great to see them still there. They seem more amenable than the Bray swans (I laughed when one of them made a swipe at you!!!!). They are all there in full glory still, and I saw a pic of them in the Internet last night. Keep it up Maudie.
