Going to be gone for 5 days

I must visit the local VA Hospital 4 times a year for a 5 day treatment called an IVIg. Intravenous Immunoglobulin

Have a little disease that mirrors MS, called Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy. Has same symptoms as MS, and just as debilitating but it does not affect the central nervous system, only the peripheral system.

Causes loss of surface sensation, pain, affects gross and fine motor skills, and eye sight.

Once I am through the treatment and a week later I feel totally rejuvenated.

The only bad part about having the treatment is the boredom. For the next five days I have little if anything to do. My bag is filled with games and puzzles, and books. I have my cell phone to keep in touch with family, and my digital camera to keep a record of the event.

See you all on the other side.
