WHAT SHOULD SFF DO TO GET YOU TO BECOME A PAYING MEMBER

I have been in contact with four SFF abuse team members in the lase two days. The one that I was on the phone with Wednesday night just lied to me. Using standard answers. All the others have been helpful. Now I know why the rules are not the same for everybody. It all depends on who you are talking to at SFF. If you can make a friend on the abuse team, it would go a long way toward having rules bent. They sent me an email today giving me exact instruction on how best to handle the bait and report game players. I will follow their suggestions and help put a stop to the stupid little childish game. But be very careful not to get caught up in it and get banned.
I have been assured that an investigation would be started. Others have jumped on SFF for their part in this abuse also. I would like to thank everyone that is helping make this a better place for all. I am going to request SFF to follow this blog for our advise. It makes good business sense to please customers and make money. Not very many of us are paying members. I'm sure they would love to have many more.
SFF had a rep in chat today. That rep was really taking heat from us. I hope that this is a first step of many that SFF will take to make this a fun place again.
If SFF were to have common sense rules that would apply to everybody equally, and stop supporting the stalkers/baiters/reporters, I would become a paying member. But I must see a vast improvement to get me to spend the money. Please post your concerns here and tell SFF what you feel they need to address. Keep your reply in good taste. Express your concerns in a civil manor. If they are sincere in their effort to do something with this mess, don't spoil it by ranting and raving. We want true complaints without the bitching. Make them want to do positive things. Go ahead and post away. Lest see if their interest in this is real.

Bare..... I was a silver member until Stampin emailed me and started the attacks on me in open chat.

I will not pay and be subjected to verbal attacks and someone trying to provoke me into an argument.

I would consider becoming a paying member again if someone puts a stop to such antics.

do not ban someone on another chatters word...dont take c&p conversations as true, because they can definitely be altered, this would save alot of banning and unbanning time. If one person is doing the reporting all the time or if the reports of abuse all come from the same ip address, be suspicious....i know there are programs that let you change your ip, but usually they are in a set 5 ip looped program.. there is a way to check. realize that most of us get along fine.. there just seems to be a very small few who make trouble.. and it isnt the people who r getting banned.

I'm already a paying member.

SFF is one of the better social chatting sites...in my opinion...but, I agree with Tanzanite22 that the feature allowing chatters to report other chatters should be removed.

Chatters have the option of using the IGNORE feature if they don't like what someone is saying.

I suggest that if members follow what were once common notions of public decency, there would be few problems.

"stalkers/baiters/reporters" are a nuisance. However the larger gangster dynamic concerns me more.

- Agreed with the strict age limit! No one under 50.
- Fix the chat room! It burps, glups, wheezes, and sticks. I've been in many chat rooms and that is unique to this site. Half of the room does not appear on the list and women are appearing gender neutral with the male icon.
- Get rid of the pay for standard member to contact me option. This allows scammers to take advantage of other members.
- Lower the membership fee to one set price. No gold, silver, etc. There is no "bang for the buck" as a "gold" member. In fact it makes me more than a little upset about that. It would seem that people might be willing to pay a smaller fee particularly those on fixed incomes rather than the seemingly outrageous price now.
- Allow us to change or delete a "matched" individual from the list.
- Make the "must haves" in the matches count for something. For example if one says, "no blue hair or Polka-dotted-trousers" (hey this is an example). Why do 92% matches pop up...why aren't those "must haves" eliminated from the "matched" bunch?
- Fix it so that the photos always appear. There have been numerous times when photos weren't working on the site. They are nothing but red X's.

I was a paying member for over a year..silver , then gold. I was actually banned while I was a gold member so figured my dollars not to important.
Would love to see the end of banning, we are suppose to be adults, voice a complaint and let the accuser put up her case before open forum...maybe blogland and let us resolve the issue...
There are a lot of things that we now iggy that should not be allowed but seems to me its some of the sweetest, nicest people you would want to know that are being banned...something wrong here.
I think they've put the traitorous foxes in with the hens in the hen house...actually don't think they need our money...just a sideline.

It's high time SFF went back to the over 50 age requirement. That's how it was when I signed up years ago. Too many kids hanging around trying to bait older women. Oh to be back to the Good Old Days!

Bare, thanks for a wonderful "down-to-earth" blog on this subject. Many of the comments here echo my sentiments - I agree! I hope you don't mind me mentioning this in your blog but having read another blog concerning an SFF Abuse team member going into chat last night for 4 hours is beyond belief or reality! Have we had our intelligence insulted here? Do people really believe that the SFF abuse team member was real? To that person who reported the so-called facts, let me say this on behalf of many of us here: some of us may be 'getting on' in age but we didn't lose our sense of reality nor did we fall off some turnip truck (sheeeesh)!!! Now let's get on the band-wagon and call SFF to verify the facts; have them post a general email to all members stating that yes they were in chat and that the blog reporting this was in fact correct.

As for being a paid member, I have in the past stipulated a few reasons why I would not. Some of the reasons have been mentioned by the good folks here, one being that this site is no longer for those 50+ (one of the reasons I joined) and to be treated like school children being punished and censored for trivial things that those on a senior site should not have to be subjected to. Oh sure I have younger friends that I enjoy but as Canron mentioned here, there are other reasons (at times) that we like to relate to those 50+. Besides, the 18+ to join this site does not (to me) appear to coincide with the word 'senior' (as in the title of SFF). Oh and 'Rugged', being over 50 is not necessarily considered 'OLD' ... a comment like that is often made by those who refuse to relate to anyone over 50!

I just learned from my honey that he called SFF and found out that the legal counsel from SFF is in fact a real person employed by SFF and was in chat as previously reported.

Fiesty, Very good. Well said. Just to inform you, the stalkers got imsoshy last night. It's totally out of hand. I certainly hope that all of these posts show SFF that they do indeed have a bad problem. It can be fixed but only by SFF. When any one of you see the baiting start, please cut and paste it and email it to SFF abuse team. This is what abuse has requested me to do. We can turn things around on the stalkers if we al do that.

I have sent several emails to sff abuse team including the one that was talking to us in the chat room. I think he is a real person. I also think he doesn't give a crap about most of us. None of my emails were answered and the stupid, childish banning of good decent members because the stalkers don't like them keeps growing day by day by day. Granted he did help a couple get their membership back. But at the same time, he allows all the other stuff to grow. If he were serious, he would create fair and honest rules and clean house of all the stalkers friends that are on his abuse team. But, he's in charge, he must enjoy the turmoil. Even though we have different rules for different chatters, we just have to be careful and watch your back
