West Lake, Hangzhou Arched bridge above swift streams, darkened pavilions stand Twilight at early dusk cast shadows on the land Weeping birch, willows hang, branches sway in the breeze Sitting alone on the bench placed between the trees Watching the Lei Feng Pagoda framed in the sky Dark silhouette stands alone so serene and shy Broken Bridge situated at the Bai Causeway there Wavy reflections of sunset in West Lake bare Reeds by the bank wave at slow boats and teahouses Spring comes with misty rains, plum and magnolia flowers As street musicians play, orioles sing sweetly Colourful butterflies flutters about gently Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past |

Is Hangzhou sometimes spelled with an 's'? If so, I know an American who has lived there for about 30 yeras, he exports Antiques and runs a travel agency....Black Zebra is the name.

The old spelling was Hangchow. Besides West Lake, it is also famous for its silk and tea. I have visited it just once. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past

If you do visit, spring is the best time to go. It is real beautiful then with the peony, plum and magnolias blooming everywhere. Hi flakes, Thank you. Beijing is a very historical city. Didn't you visit Tiananmen and the Imperial Palace. I love the Great Wall. Although it was tough climbing up the wall, it was worth it standing at the bastion looking out onto the undulating hills below. For a short while it was as if I had gone back in time -ame am a soldier defending the wall a few hundred years ago. There is also a very beautiful lake there. I can't remember the name but it sounded like Yangsomething Lake. It is opposite the CCTV Tower. I have just returned from Bali. It is beautiful and not expensive. The people are nice and friendly, the scenery fantastic and the taxi drivers not only use meters but are polite and wear uniforms!!! Don't just go to the beach, visit the mountains, the terrace rice fields, the lakes, Taxi fare is cheap. You can also hire a car but don't drive yourself. The roads are narrow and the traffic is crazy especially the motorbikes. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past
