Autumn Picture from MoonShadow Motley colours of the forest top Ablaze in daylight’s waning glow As disgruntled leaves begin to drop Onto cold bare ground way below Busy squirrels along frost-covered path Scurry for food as winter looms Golden leaves in gentle winds waft Over sad plants with forgotten blooms Frost-covered branches beseech the sky For sunshine, just a little longer Perhaps this is the reason why At times rises an Indian summer Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past |

Hi shirl, A rubber estate with frost on the ground? But it sure looks like one now that you have pointed it out. Oh, durian season is starting and I have just returned from breakfast at Pelita Nasi Kandar. They have curry crab, curry prawn, curry fish head, roti canai, ayam masak merah, etc. Just lots and lots of tasty Malaysian food. Yummy! good guess Lee! thanks for sharing. {{HUGZ}} Thank you. That is my first guess. My second guess is that the Indians pray to their Goddess, summer_lane49, hence the name. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past

Hi mrsjoe, I like autumn too. I have seen pictures of autumn and they are awesome; it is as if the Big Guy has decided to paint the trees in autumn (and spring too, except that in spring he only paints flowers). Yes, both autumn and spring would be my favourite time of the year - warm in the day and chilly in the evening with colour everywhere. Hmm, maybe I should live in four seasons for a while. Hi Summer Goddess, I thought you won't be back since Oldboy is there in AP. I am not yet a haiku poet, more like a haiku student experimenting with all the different styles, modern as well as traditional. But I find difficulty in the abstract style whereby a haiku can have multiple meanings. Mine are more direct but may be interpreted differently by the readers. By the way, did you notice that I have written the ultimate haiku for you-only 3 words. Lee Live today as if it is your last For tomorrow will soon be in the past
